  1. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) I knew Patrick Ramsey hasn't been great as a QB, but I'm shocked he's now at DE for Atlanta :-P, lol just messing with you. I know you meant Patrick Kerney. I think the injuries to NE will be too much to overcome this year and they don't have much of a shot at stopping Vick. It's late, I was bound to get something wrong there. And yeah things are lookin flash for them right now, but you can never right them off.
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) You were the main guy I was targeting with this post.... I know it's my constant love for Chad Tracy isn't it. Sigh, those D-Backs got to me in Arizona ya know.
  3. Has Luis Vizcaino done enough you think to be kept on the playoff roster? Rest assured though, in a pressure situation that calls for a lefty, Neal Cotts better be the guy coming to the mound, not Damaso Marte.
  4. Fine I'll go home and never return again......
  5. QUOTE(redsoxjamie @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) Probably not. You guys are good because you have a bunch of really good pitching, not because you have any one great pitcher. Buehrle, Garland, Contreras, and Garcia together make up a hell of a rotation, but individually, none of them is worth trading Manny Ramirez for. Also, the Red Sox already have 5 starters signed for next year (Schilling, Wakefield, Clement, Arroyo, and Wells are all under contract for next year), plus Jonathan Papelbon, who deserves to be in the starting rotation next year. So if they're in the market for a starting pitcher, they're going to have to find a way to get rid of somebody they already have. Is Wells 100% certain to be back next season? If not, I doubt they go for a A.J Burnett (he wants $13M over 5 years), one of the Japanese pitchers like Daisuke Matzusuka perhaps, but as you say Papelborn should be the guy if they are gonna let him start.
  6. We've been waiting since 2000 to make the playoffs because of a lack of quality pitching and now we've finally done it on the back of that. To say you'd deal from that strength for an overpaid egotistical DH/OF sounds pretty insane to me. There are just much better trade options out there for the White Sox, and as the Boston poster said, there's nothing we can really give them to please em enough for a deal. Not like the Mets and Carlos Beltran.
  7. So thoughts for this week around the NFL; Can Byron Letwich and the Jacksonville offense actually start putting up some points? Seems like Leftwich is passing well enough, but the lack of a running game is hindering them. Can New England stop Atlanta's running game. And with Tom Ashworth at RT against Patrick Ramsey, ain't looking too flash for the Pats right now. Incredibly tough schedule they've had early on though. Can Dallas get the running game going against a banged up Philly D-Line? The Boys O-Line needs to do a much better job at opening up holes for Jones, otherwise Jeremiah Trotter will hav a field day. Which QB will manage the game better in Gus Freotte and Kelly Holcombe? Should be a battle of Ronnie Brown vs. Willis McGahee though. Can Andre Johnson get going? He's a stud #1 WR, and yet has done nothing so far, because Houston has been terrible offensively. Rumblings that they may not even pick up Carr's $8M option or roster bonus in the off-season if they don't improve, but that'd be pretty stupid. Can Denver's D actually continue being really good? They've done a great job so far especially against the run, and another good chance for them to show it against Taylor on Sunday Night. Will Josh McCown pass for over 300 yards again, and start a QB controversy in Arizona. I know one thing, he's got 2 great receivers in Larry Fitzgerald and Boldin, and Bryant Johnson ain't too shabby as a 3rd WR either. They just need to protect a little better, and for Shipp/Arrington to get going. Should be a good NFL weekend.

    Grand Theft Auto

Only for PSP. Basically you're Toni Cipriani 5 years before the "I don't talk" dude arrived in Liberty City. So you're building up the Mafia Empire basically. I think the next GTA game to come out, will be GTA Tokyo, but I'm not 100% certain on that, so don't quote me on it. Will look amazing I bet though on the PS3. As for another game that I am waiting for, The Movies comes out next month. Should be fun making your own movies and putting your own voice in. I know Rally Crede (Capn12) is waiting for this game also. The Movies
  9. Certainly looks like the possibility is there;
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Mench isn't much more productive than Carl Everett. I'd rather give Frank his $3.5 million buyout and offer him a cheap 2-year deal. According to his comments during the celebration, Frank doesn't want to play for any other team. If Frank gets injured again next season, just start Brian Anderson in RF and DH Dye (I'm assuming that Brian Anderson will be our 4th outfielder). Mench has a lot more scope to improve. Plus he only made $345,000 last season, which in the Sox payroll plans, would certainly help. But he's not my #1 trade option. Chad Tracy with splits of .308/.359/.553. That's a .911 OPS, and he's got the ability to play 1B/3B/LF/RF, even though he'd probably majorly DH for us. And if Frank goes down, Anderson's not likely to put up that great numbers as a replacement in his 1st season. Think 2005 Aaron Rowand numbers with a bad K/BB ratio.
  11. So weird moment of the day. Watching The Simpsons this morning, and seeing Ned Flanders thinking about Pre - Marital Sex. A Dancing Bible with 2 legs, pulling off one of the coloured strings and opening up the front cover.
  12. Now my question to Sox-r-us is this. Would you prefer Manny by himself, or Paul Konerko AND a trade option for a DH like Kevin Mench, Lyle Overbay or Chad Tracy? Killing 2 birds with 1 stone that way. And Dye's not going to field at 1B, even though that was discussed around here about 3 months ago.
  13. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) I just wish we could add one of the most underrated hitters in all of baseball...that of course being Brian Giles. Trade wise, Chad Tracy's where it's at. And if Dave Wilder becomes the D-Backs GM, well a package of prospects including Arizona Native Daniel Haigwood, could suddenly work. But Giles is at least gonna get 4 years @30M this off-season. At his age, I doubt the Sox enter the bidding at that price.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) Hunter? Could very well be seeing Torii Hunter in CF for the Red Sox or Yankees next season. Where Johnny Damon goes however will have a lot to say on that regard.
  15. Puff the Magic Dragon with a picture of El Duque lighting up a cigar.
  16. Garland and Pierzynski get raises. We have 3 OF's already. Way more likely that Konerko gets re-signed before we trade for Manny. I doubt Manny's going anywhere anyways, unless Omar Minaya suddenly decides Carlos Beltran is expendable.
  17. Baltimore Houston St Louis Atlanta Chicago Tampa Bay New Orleans Buffalo Indianapolis Philadelphia Denver Carolina Jacksonville San Diego
  18. I wouldn't be suprised if he is. El Duque's going nowhere after tonight. That leaves B-Mac, Viz and Marte. B-Mac could be needed for game 5, so he's probably in. So it's either Viz and Marte, and Viz hasn't even been used yet.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) My gosh; that shocks me. I figured they'd go witih the same rotation and simply let Jon sit. Hopefully the magic continues but did any of you also think he'd go Contreras, Mark and Fred again? They want to give Jon some work, instead of having to wait another 5 or so days before he pitches next.
  20. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) WTF is your problem? Im really starting to hate this board. I thought one of the rules was to treat everybody with respect even if you disagree with somebody. Nobody is disagreeing with you. You are just bringing up an obvious point, that has probably been mentioned 100 times already in this thread and others about Eddy Curry and his heart.
  21. In one of those articles, you know what stuck out at me, 22 year old forward. How fitting.
  22. Brent Seabrook. 4 assists. Great game for him as well.
  23. Very nice indeed. Now they need the team to start living up to their end of the bargain.
  24. I laugh at my older sister for still using a hotmail account. Quite hilarious really.
