QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) Some times things have a funny way of hitting home. I, not 15 minutes ago, found out that my father has prostate cancer. Reading that article, and the odds that Cowley faced, kind of helped me put things into the proper perspective. Prayers and thoughts with you and your family YASNY.

And I came in about 6th which is pretty damn good for someone who doesn't know a lot about College B-Ball. Got the North Carolina over Illinois pick as well, and I got Connecticut right last year as well.

Minor League Prospects Suspended for Roids

Yeah it's been posted so I'll just merge em. -
I'm sure Freddy will be hoping to take the next step this year, and to do that, he's going to have to pitch better at home and not give up as many home runs. We need him to win 15 games or more to contend in this division.

QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) There was a much longer article in today's Tribune, describing the various treatments he's had, his family life and more. Also, it went into a contentious past he had with KW, and said KW called him after hearing about Cowley's troubles, encouraged him, stuff like that. Someone more computer savvy will be able to post the article, I hope. One of those feelgood stories;

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) I was watching Detroit-KC today, and the Tigers had Rodriguez getting signs from the dugout. You'd think Rodriguez would have enough experience to call a game on his own. I must say though, Bonderman was impressive today. Bonderman's the X Factor for Detroit. A lot of people are thinking he's going to be the breakout player this season, and on today's form he's done nothing to quell the hype. They need the rest of the rotation in guys like Ledezma to hold up as well though, although pitching in that huge park in Comerica will no doubt help.

Opening Day vs. Cleveland 4-4-05

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) To top off a very good White Sox day, the Twins lost. What a weird day quite frankly Dimitri Young hits 3 home runs, and a 1 run game at the Cell. -
Great start for the year for the Sox, Buerhle looked fantastic, which was really good to see because the Indians seem to be the one team that have bothered him over the years, plus it came at the Cell, where his pitching numbers weren't exactly great last season either. Not so great with the hitting, but Westbrook pitched damn good as well, plus it's only day one, you'll take a win any way you can.

Have a great time for everyone who is going to game, and tailgating a SoxTalk hook up. Let's hope the Sox can get off on the right foot this year, too bad I'll be missing since I'm off to bed. -
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) From Rotoworld, Wilson Valdez is going to be the Mariners' opening day ss w/ both Pokey and Jose Lopez hurting. That can't be good for Wite's man Willie Bloomquist. Good chance for Wilson though, I hope he makes the best of it and shows something, could make Reese expendable.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) [email protected]'t forget Jamison. I'm assuming he's gonna be healthy come playoff time. Jamison basically is the 3rd guy in the offense, who becomes relied on if Hughes or Arenas ain't lighting it up. Gilbert is an expert at getting to the FT line, and Skiles will have to be very weary on this. Down low with Brown, Jeffries and Haywood, they're vulnerable though, unless those 3 play at their best.
-
Eddy vs. Brenda Take 2. Should be a great series if it does happen though. The Bulls are really going to have to be at their best defensively to clamp down on Arenas and Hughes.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) I learned one thing after meeting him this weekend in MIL, don't ask about Willie, Seriously though, Jim and Quick were great to meet and hang out with. I definately can't wait to do it again. I bet you heard a few back and forth baseball arguments with those two. Really cool you got to meet them and possibly others in MIL.

QUOTE(Confederate_48 @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:57 PM) I watched. Formula 1 is good stuff. Im loving how Schumacher is struggling. Absolutely it's making it for much interesting, as are some of the new rules like engines for 2 races, and the same tyres for practise, qualifying and racing, watching them fly all over the track. Was really hoping for Mark Webber to get his 1st podium, but his rear tyres basically gave out and he spun sending him down to 6th. Great scrap the last 7 laps with De La Rosa though.
