  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) Unless he was playing on the track, he had no chance. For the life of me, I can't believe we had Thornton warming up and didn't bring him in. From the one angle CSN showed it almost appeared as if Dye whiffed on the ball. I'd have to see it again. He's a terrible fielder whether or not he had a chance on this play. Can't move worth a s***.
  2. I don't want to hear a god damn word about the Metrodome here. We're playing scared. We must not like 1st place. With the way everything is going, I'd be shocked if we won one game.

  5. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) oh yeah that will get you far in life being the chat "warrior" you are It will. Josh Fields even showed up one time, but it was uncomfortable when he kept asking for my A/S/L.
  6. I've heard the call to arms and will be there. No pathetic excuses like work or family obligations will be tolerated.
  7. A commemorative brick outside US Cellular field, of course.
  8. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:30 PM) scrubs is annoyingly ridiculous and unfunny. I've tried to watch, but each time I did, all the over-the-top crap just irritated me more and more, particularly the main character. This is exactly how I feel. And I just refer to the main character as Jewish guy in conversations with people about the show. His name isn't important.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) Entourage is just awful. Awful. I'd say Weeds just because I believe Mary-Louise Parker is a terrible actress, the show is funny but she definitely brings it down. Also, House is f***ing great and the first like 4.5 or 5 seasons Scrubs was about as good as it gets. It does suck now though. I enjoy Entourage, but definitely understand the hatred for it. I believe it all comes down to Turtle. Everyone who dislikes the show hates him. His death is the key for the continued success of the show. About House, how long can this show possibly go on? He treats mysterious illnesses every week. Eventually the writers will run out of new ways of making people fall over and House coming up with his witty, yet heart filled responses to his teams questions. It's like Prison Break. Him and his brother are out of the damn prison, right? So why the hell does it still exist?!
  10. MASH. As a drama series it was dragged down by Alan Alda and seemingly the same issue brought up every week. 'We're in a war zone treating the same people we talked to earlier in the week' is the plot line all episodes were based off. If this show were around today it'd never survive. Too bland. And as a comedy it was just outright terrible. Not even laughing tracks could sway my opinion. also Always Sunny In Philadelphia. There's something about the actors (esp. Danny DeVito) in this show which makes viewing it a chore. I compare it to King of the Hill -- entertaining, but not hilarious.
  11. I'm guaranteeing victory in hopes of evening out all the ball licking that everyone in the media will be performing on the Twins.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) Maybe he got off the HGH? He should get back on it, then. By the time testing is approved by the MLBPA his ass will be confined to a rocking chair. And I'm talking three/four years from now.
  13. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:44 AM) And you wanna know another thing I'm sick of that doesn't help....I'm sick of Ozzie and Hawk and everybody pretty much sucking the Twins Twinkies. Every time these two open their mouth you'd think they were the reincarnation of the 36 Yankees or something. ENOUGH ALREADY. You don't think when your own team continues to hear this s*** it doesn't almost give them a defeatist attitude?!? Hell...no wonder the Sox always play like s*** against the Twins...it's because they're getting it ingrained the the TWINS ARE THE GREATEST! F@#$ THAT!!! I don't expect Konerko to change his spots or anything...he has the killer instict of a cold sore...but guys like Quentin, Swish, OC...the new blood...come on...get on it. I'm tired of this Twins slurping as well. It was practically the same for every Santana start. I'm certain Konerko isn't bald from genetics but tipping his cap after every Joe Mays/Santana victory. And it was even worst around here that people just basically did the virtual equivalent of shrugging their shoulders. You face a guy 12 times over three f***ing years with the same players basically in the lineup, and I don't care if he's Cy Young incarnated you should develop a strategy for defeating him. If I had one example of needless love for Minnesota it was during a series at the Cell earlier in the year when Konerko hit a ball to center, Gomez had a terrible read, and it sailed on him. Hawk went on as if he was making an excuse for Gomez, suggesting the ball knuckled more than any other he had ever seen. My f***ing ass. Then he proceeded to reference it for the next week! It was almost as if he couldn't stand someone on the Twins looking like an idiot.
  14. Buehrle and the offense sure stepped up tonight. Nice beginning to this four game set. Oh, but lets not take anything away from Slowey. I mean, I'm sure we'll see CG shutouts under his name for MANY future starts. hahahahahah
  15. The Cubs should be glad they're facing Sabathia instead of Slowey. Then they really would have been in trouble.
  16. Embarrassing. Nice to see we've shown up for game 1 in an important series. Oh, but I'm sure they'll win the next three games. Right? LOLOLOLOL
  17. This is what freightens me - the Twins will be 1.5 games out of 1st place after tonights inevitable victory, and they have Liriano set to join the rotation. Who is our secret weapon from the minors who will replace a poor spot in the rotation or lineup?
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:29 PM) And this is why they usually pass us in August, and we sit home. We are just behind Texas for most errors committed. s***ty defense + homer only offense + pitching starting to get into a funk = usual PASB Whitesox Baseball Catch the fever. Chat
  19. We just don't want to win today. You know damn well they'll get a run out of this, and it'll probably end up being the game winner after we score 4 runs later.
  20. QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) did KOnerko not run that out? I missed it as I had to leave the room in disgust as soon as the ball hit the ground. Yes, but after it hit off his bat to Slowey and he bowed his head in disgust.
  21. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) way to hustle paul Even when he makes contact it's pathetic. If he's still injured (and I'm not saying he is, but IF) then we'll all be alot better if a fastball finds its way to his hand so we can stop throwing him out there.
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) Nobody booing Swisher from what I hear. I think the injury thing really f***s up Konerko and he is not athletic enought o play through it. I know this is an excuse but why not play Anderson or Wise over Swisher once in a while. If Konerko is still injured and unable to play through it then he should be substituted for Swisher once in awhile.
  23. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) I just want to win 1. Just 1. So....you want to be behind 1.5 games? Nice job, ace. Big game and you can't pitch.
  24. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) Why does Nick Swisher get the free pass? I am not a Konerko backer but there is still the hand issue. What is Swisher's excuse, his robust .228 and below average CF play are not adding anything to the team. He's not receiving a free pass. It's just this simple: .228/.349./.399 @ 3.6 million as an average CF > .216/.315/.357 @ 12 million as a below average 1B. I love when these Minnesota scrubs knock us around. The way Slowey has been throwing crap at the plate we should have atleast three runs by the time he exists.
