  1. You have to figure his back is killing him if he's missing games during his walk year.
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) Marshall clearly has nothing to do with it. But......they're playing at Wrigley Field!!! Something about playing there makes advancing runners, avoiding DPs, and missing Jason Marquis' twenty hanging breaking balls unavoidable. They should sweep all visiting ballclubs. That's the impression I had from some people on Sunday.
  3. Orioles sure have no problems with the Cubs thus far. And, wouldn't you know, they're playing at Wrigley Field! I thought the Cubs weren't going to lose another game there? Just makes our weekend seem all the more pathetic.
  4. QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 24, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) In tribute to GC's passing...HBO is going to be airing all of his specials...from 1977 to this past year.... HBO tribute I was anticipating this. Time to dust off the blank VHS tapes. Here's the schedule, BTW (link wasn't working when I tried): Wednesday # 7 p.m.: “George Carlin at USC” (1977) # 8:30 p.m.: “George Carlin Again!” (1978) # 10 p.m.: “Carlin at Carnegie” (1983) # 11 p.m.: “Carlin on Campus” (1984) # Midnight: “Playin’ with Your Head” (1986) Thursday # 7 p.m.: “What Am I Doing in New Jersey?” (1988) # 8 p.m.: “Doin’ It Again” (1990) # 9 p.m.: “Jammin’ in New York” (1992) # 10 p.m.: “Back in Town” (1996) # 11:05 a.m.: “You Are All Diseased” (1999) # Midnight: “It’s Bad for Ya” (2008)
  5. Of course he doesn't get it. Have you taken a good look at the man? He's the definition of an aging white racist. Even with his Rutgers comments, I wasn't shocked because it about fit my impression of him. These latest comments are tame in comparison. You could easily make an excuse for it (although we all know what he meant). He's still on the radio because aging white racists appeal to a wide audience of aging white racists.
  6. Weak effort from Mariotti today. I was looking forward to reading an offensive article that would incite reaction among Sox fans. He disappointed me. It's funny, when you become accustomed to his material you notice articles such as today's, where it seems, he is being told to tone it down. And yes, I'M READING HIS ARTICLES AND MAKING HIM TEH AWESOME. I don't care. Infact, I buy 10 sun times for every one person on this board who suggests they've boycotted Mariotti. Your whining is making him rich!
  7. Only shame about Carlin is he had to end on the heels of his March comedy special on HBO. I thought it was atrocious. He literally spent half his routine on religion, and even used a few jokes from previous acts -- (ie, I was a catholic until the age of reason).
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) What you saw this weekend was the result of two teams that get most of their wins at home squaring off... the hometeam swept. Next weekend will be quite different. I understand the Cubs have a stellar home record, but they're not going to win every one. I just hate the equivalent of shrugging our shoulders and saying "oh, well, Cubs are good at home and that's that." Aka the Johan Santana defense. And how does playing at Wrigley Field have to do with their inability to advance runners, Vazquez/Contreras soiling themselves, or the bullpen giving up HRs? I guess I should expect a sweep at home against the Cubs since we have a good home record, right? Of course, there will probably be another excuse when we don't. Such as, "can't win every home game-" which only applies to us and not the Cubs.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:05 PM)
  10. It's always good to lose three games to the team beneath you in the standings in three games, right? Just as it is to lose three games to the best team in the national league, one in front of a national audience, all the while your VAUNTED pitching staff wets itself in two straight games. Really an embarrassing weekend to be a White Sox fan.
  11. Nice way to be clutch Crede. And nice to show up this series.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) Wait until Kershaw gets hold of this offense on Thursday. He's like Lance Broadway, right?
  13. Cmon. How is that even possible? You throw all fastball during the AB and they're fouled off, then the FIRST offspeed pitch you throw it's fouled off? That's a hell of a guess, considering Dotel is throwing 93 mph.
  14. That's the first thing all series that has gone against the Cubs.
  15. When is someone going to hit Ramirez? At what point does a player embarrass your ballclub enough that you just rather see him on base from a bruise than a double?
  16. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) that might've been gone in yesterday's game but not tonight. Ramirez and Patterson sure had no problems hitting homeruns. We just get the benefit of warning track outs.
  17. Nice, wait seven innings to begin hitting Dempster out of the infield.
  18. It'll be moments like this which will irritate me more than anything. You have a runner on second with 0 outs You can score a f***ing run without even getting a hit. Just execute properly.
  19. Quick inning. Now score six runs offense. Have some pride.
  20. That's a funny looking HR from Cabrera. Aren't they supposed to fly over the outfield stands?
  21. If this team has any balls they'll respond this inning with atleast one run. Show everyone you're alive, and not embarrassed by this pitiful evening of baseball.
  22. Embarrassing. Game. Vazquez gives up a HR to Patterson, this f***ing scrub? Wow.
