What a TERRIBLE swing from Konerko. I don't care what Hawk says about the nastiness of the pitch. The other Sox players didn't seem to have a problem with it.

You know Konerko was on deck hoping Thome would either end the game with a DP or score a few on a hit. Let's see what he does. It'd be a great opportunity for him to come through.

I had to post in here before Konerko's AB in the 9th inning. Here's the scenario -- 12-11 Texas, two on (1st/2nd), 2 out. The thread will go on two divergent paths depending upon his results. As Fathom suggested, it's going to be interesting either way for the next several days. Either he'll win/tie the game, walk or embarrass him......again.

Arlington is the new Oakland, atleast judging from this series and seemingly all the mistakes we've made and opportunities that have been squandered.

When my paternal grandfather died in 1990 there were issues among some family members regarding his estate. Even if I gave everyone the same amount of money, I'm sure there would still be problems. And on my mom's side, there are several people who would only squander their money and then continue to ask for more. My big plan would be to construct a modest house (probably around $500,000), purchase a boat, and locate a vacation home around Lake Michigan or Lake Geneva. It's interesting that I haven't read anyone suggest what they'd do about work. Personally, I believe I'd still be a police officer somewhere. After awhile sitting around would grow old, and I'm sure people would be suspicious of how I could afford everything when I don't work.

You just knew this would happen. It'd be impossible for Contreras to have a perfect inning. This better be the last we see him this afternoon. Get Masset ready for the 6th, Ozzie.

One disadvantage of having the game remain within two runs is Guillen will push Contreras to get through innings so perhaps he'll have an opportunity to win. If I were Guillen I'd remove him after the 5th, whether he throws a perfect inning or not. The Rangers didn't score 7 runs on accident.

If the filmmakers capture the feeling of the novel I don't know how anything can compete with it. That's why I'm throwing all my praise onto this movie now. There's nothing within the novel that sets an exact time period, though. It's about a father and son traveling across America in a post-apocalyptic setting. Technology is nonexistent.

I'm just throwing that out there right now and taking credit four months before its release.

I've just grown tired of looking at Konerko. He has been on this team far too long. If he left tomorrow I wouldn't care. Especially with Thome filling the role of slow footed slugger. We've seen what their capable of without him. More than enough players capable of hitting a HR in his absence, and the upgrade which happens both in CF (Wise/BA) and 1b (Swisher) would be beneficial to us. Even now, I understand there's a possibility he will rebound offensively. Although 2003 suggests he may not. It's just, when you begin to carry over your troubles to the defensive end then it becomes embarrassing to watch. Especially when it involves moving yourself a full two feet to the left to catch a fricken ball.

Some day, i want to watch Journey to the Center of the Earth just to laugh at the terrible special FX and (no doubt) horrible inaccuracies concerning the planet's inner core. Apparently, exotic plants (without sunlight), dinosaurs and a collection of other creatures exist down there. You can also survive a 10+ second drop into water. WE'RE STILL FALLING!!! hahaha. Brendon Fraser is really hurting for work between Mummy installments.

Cowley is there everyday in the clubhouse, unlike some of his colleagues. I'm willing to bet his vendetta, if you can call it that, is merely an observation of Cabrera's personality. Have we seen or heard anything to suggest Cabrera ISN'T selfish or an asshole?
