  1. If he were to accept the 50 million dollar contract Comedy Central offered, I believe he would be obligated to create four or five more seasons. There must be an underlying reason why he wouldn't accept this. He can't possibly enjoy stand-up comedy enough to pass on 50 mil. Perhaps Chapelle stood back and realized there was no way he could top the first two seasons. All his 'A' material had already been used, and the thought of creating another several seasons was too much.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) I was just noticing that. I've been to a Sox @ Cubs game and I don't remember the bathrooms looking like that. Also, it doesn't look like any of the idiots in the video are wearing Cubs gear. Ah, dammit. Too good to be true. I was about a minute from completing a post in the main MLB.com forum. Hell would have began from there.
  3. Their bathrooms are even worse than I imagined. It looks like a damn chiken coup. Now begins my mission to spread this video around the baseball world. First stop? MLB.com.
  4. It's difficult to break down my two favorite classic rock songs, but if I had to absolutely choose, I'd select: No Time-Guess Who. Baby Blue- Badfinger.
  5. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) USE BOTH! ARRRRRR! It looks like a giant python is crawling through his skin. Just wait until he's older, and all that muscle turns into delicious flab.
  6. I love some of the banner adverstisements featured near the top of the page. -"Date Democrats within your area." -"JOIN THE VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY!" I checked, and Nuke runs s*** over there.
  7. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) Only thing i will never understand is when a highschool comes across pictures of drinking and they can suspend kids. Was not on there property, was not during school hours... likely on the weekend. I don't recall the exact reasoning for school's having the ability to enforce punishment in circumstances such as those, but it relates to an invidual's membership with the school. The school, as in extension of the community, has the right to enforce proper punishment when someone commits a crime. Again, I'm not sure, but there are rules about it. Certain rights are given up once you enter a school--such as search and seizure. They don't need a warrant or probable cause to check your locker, whereas outside school grounds police would need to obtain one.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) I wonder, if KW were to think about this sort of deal...if he might do one of his classic "I'll make the deal if you include $x million" sort of moves, given how expensive Abreu's contract is. Interesting you brought this up. I hope not. Depending on the amount of money Williams is intending Philadelphia to take on, we'll have to give up a prospect accordingly. Gillick is probably saying the same thing--similar to how the Thome deal was structured. Sweeney may not even be around to replace Abreu in a few years. The rate our organization produces outfield talent it may be feasible for KW. And since productive corner outfielders are easier to find, Williams may include Sweeney for a slightly cheaper Abreu. I'd rather take on his entire contract and hold onto Sweeney, but I've never seen us miss the opportunity for a cheaper contract before.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) poor lads want heads22 to bet again *no one said anything about adding numbers poop lads want heads22 to bet again.
  10. Gorilla Suit Day in February? f***ING RACISTS!
  11. four dads want head so wet gain
  12. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) I assume the blogger is talking about Union Station in D. C. Yeah, I just googled Union Station and noticed there's no fewer than four cities whose train stations share the name. Well, atleast I can begin riding the Metra into the station again.......
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Good curveball, fastball, and changeup. I think curveball is his best pitch. Not entirely sure though. His problem is control. Interesting project Floyd could become. Cooper could help modify his mechanics. Rather have control problems than weak stuff or an injury history. Since we're likely expecting him to pitch out of the bullpen, if he posts numbers comparable to either Vizcaino or Marte--with the possibility of improving on both--it'd be a fair investment. Won't expect much from him, though.
  14. If the Comcast affiliate in Philadelphia is reporting this rumor I wouldn't exactly consider it a rumor. I believe it's legitimate now. These Comcast networks have strong influences from the teams which have part in their ownership. Whether it's from a close contact within the Phillies or not, you have to believe they wouldn't just report it for the sake of providing conversation. I'm not a fan of this trade. Not necessarily because of the financial limitations it may impose next season, but I'd rather receive a package centered around pitching. I suppose Williams considers this Abreu package the best available, and is intent on receiving something for him before he departs. Can anyone tell me Floyd's 'stuff?' I wonder if Sox scouts look at him and see their next Marte.
  15. I'm not a liberal either, however, I don't disagree with the cartoon's publication. A columnist could have written those exact sentiments in words and it wouldn't have caused nearly the reaction. I understand there's a distinct difference between a person's mental image of words and a cartoon, but it's simply an opinion. For anyone who approves this image because it supports their views and it's merely another venue to criticize the war, don't be shocked when someday a cartoon is printed which provides a cheap shot on a sensitive topic you support.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) Either that or checking out the stalls more often Do you remember the bathroom stalls on the second floor, near the food court, before they remodeled it? The walls and doors of each stall went all the way to the ground--it was like a closet. All I know is if anything were going to happen anywhere, it would have happened there. Just don't ask me how I know.
  17. Wait, so supposed sexual relations between two men happened within Union Station? Last time I ride the Metra there.
  18. You figure it's inevitable Iran will one day (sooner, rather than later) have the capabilities to finally assemble a nuclear weapon. Honestly, I believe it's too late for any worthwhile actions. Will economic sanctions derail their bold ambitions? No. Can Israel possibly destroy every independent site housing nuclear material? Probably not. Won't stop them from trying. Somehow, I don't believe the Iranian president cares much about the principles of Mutually Assured Destruction. He can order a nuclear strike of Israel from another country, anyways. His ass won't be incinerated or fused with sand. Israel should have taken out Iranian facilities a long time ago. When the proper intelligence became availble, they just should have circumvented the entire sanctions/negotiations practice and forcibly destroyed Iran's capabilities. Who cares about criticism? The entire Middle East, in addition almost the entire planet, could care less about Israel as it is. Better than looking over your shoulder at some f***ing lunactic promoting your annihilation.
  19. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) Tim Kaine is good. The Bush speech is pretty solid too (I'm on page three) I'm not a democrat, but I agree. Kaine must have experience in practicing law--or selling used cars. He emphasized certain points well at certain junctures in his speech with facial expressions and hang gestures. You can teach this, yes, but it goes a long way to convincing people you're genuine.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Either Rowand44 is really tall or Snb, Krush, and Addy are short....which is it? I recall an old interview on Sportscenter where Patrick was interviewing AJ while he was with the Twins. AJ is about 6'4 and they were equal height. Use that to determine your answer.
  21. Very strong words for Iran earlier. George heightened his tone noticeably on the issue. Somehow, you get the impression economic sanctions against Iran aren't very practical in Dubya's mind. New documents released by the IAEA earlier this afternoon should dispell any doubt of Iran's intentions.
  22. "We will act boldly in freedom's cause." Democrats wet themselves. I noticed prior to this statement he mentioned democratic elected governments respecting their neighbors. If that's not a subtle dig at Hamas I don't know what is.
  23. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) Bush didnt invite her obviously. According to Fox News some congresswoman invited her. Typo on my behalf. Meant don't know why 'they' bothered to invite her. She wasn't going to be allowed in the room during his speech.
  24. You're right. That's funny. Don't know why he even bothered to invite her, though. Let's use this as the official State of the Union thread.
  25. I don't have a clever quote to provide; but honestly, I NEVER knew Gene Honda was Asian. If anyone here asked me to pick him out in a crowd prior to this thread I wouldn't have guessed correctly. Suppose I'm accustomed to the stereotypical accent associated with Asians. Narrow minded me.
