SoxNet: What can the White Sox get for Jeff Samardzija?
sammy esposito replied to Quin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) Hopefully before he starts Tuesday. Now that Shark is pitching more like we thought he could. If he pitches tomorrow I believe that is the more likely scenario. -
QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) That was sorta the way I was looking at it too. The reason I mentioned Barnes and Schebler was because neither has been labeled as untouchable by the organization, both are blocked, and both can help out the Sox really soon. Maybe no one wants shark!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 05:52 PM) So I'll just say this once and you can trash me for it. I'd remove Robertson. Take best available offer and clear out that contract. Goal: something similar in value to a 2nd round pick. He would be considerable more valuable if we truly needed a closer. Other contending teams could use him he could be a valuable trading piece.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) And yet his numbers were always pretty darn solid for a guy who has less than overwhelming offspeed stuff. Last year out of spring training he was projected to be our closer. I hope he makes it back better than ever

Why Micah Johnson should not be moved to the outfield
sammy esposito replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 10:08 PM) Can he play 3rd? What are the chances he actually gets his D to acceptable 2B levels? The guy's raking in AAA He will have to play second. We are said to have bad defense anyway. I would think if he's close to average anything beats a mlb player batting .150. -
Gamethread: White Sox vs Pirates 7:10 PM CSN+

QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) Who cares? You are no where near ready to win. Best case scenario is that by the time you are good enough, Robby's abilities have diminished. Get rid of anything you can (except Sale because these idiots will completely miss on all players they acquire for him) and start over again. I can't with all can't miss trades over the winter months that they put the a team on the field that still can't score runs or field. One move is to call up Micah so he can be in the lineup when we go home. -
QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) Is he 0 for his last 50? I've never seen such a clueless undisciplined hitter. Prove me wrong Avi but you are looking like a man spiraling into a bust. Avi may pull out of it but my first thought is that other teams have changed the way they pitch him and his reaction to that is an 0 for 50 slump.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:40 PM) I don't know why a contending team would give up 2-3 prospects for him. Shark may have loads of talent but so far this season he has not demonstrated this talent well enough to enthuse potential trade partners. we are stuck with him.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 27, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) Nieto's last 10: .303, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 7 BB, 9 K's

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 18, 2015 -> 11:05 PM) crowd looked ok on tv but it was only 17k announced? Can't really spin that but hopefully they keep winning and the weather keeps warming and the park fills. tickets are bought way in advance of the game. how would anyone predicted the sox would finally come around.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 10, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) How long of a DL stint would it require? And does playing on it prolong the issue? CALL UP SANCHEZ

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) I have no issue sitting in the upper deck regardless, but for the casual fan, I honestly believe simply having a night time view of the skyline would give those seats a better chance of being filled. at comiskey there was as beautiful view of the skyline. About the only time I looked at it was during batting practice ... seems like the only time ZI noticed it was when one of our great hitters was hitting roof shots during batting practice. Watching bating practice was worth the price of admission. MLB player's union cut the home team's bating practice out.

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:33 AM) i love this, i never thought i see posters talking about the attendance in the 25K. compared to the normal 10-15k. I asked one of the ushers one day he said when the lower deck is filled the sox attendance is around 25000 when it is filled 38000 before the seats were removed Us cellular could house 44.000. I have ventured into the highest seats when it was built. I am now handicapped and sit in those seats

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) That's the one problem with the Bears 400 level. You can only enter at the bottom, so if you are at the top that's 30+ rows of stairs you have to go up/down every single time. On the 20tgh and am sure other games so far this year the lower level was not filled and on that day the upper deck occupants could have easily fit into the lower level seats. So on that particular day just allow the upper deck occupants to move down to the lower level. Everyone happy.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 07:55 AM) The park isn't ideally located. Most people drive and traffic patterns cause troubles. If they played in the South Loop, many more people would have use of Metra, etc. I have no problem with the park. I think it's really nice. For the field of play, yeah it would be cool if it wasn't so symmetrical. A weird little nuance here and there would be great. But for watching a game, sightlines, I've been to a lot of stadiums, I don't see where this one is beat. People moan about the upper deck. Go sit in the upper deck at all of these stadiums recently built. They are no better. My grandson who lives Chicago meT me at the park. We tailgated feasting on Buffalo wild wings and Red Stripe beer I am sure that tailgating at Wrigley would almost be impossible. At the game on this frigid night the game before us showed little excitement until the ninth inning when a sox rally almost proved too much the remainder of the crowd was exhuberant, sounding like a full stadium as the 4 run ninth was capped off my Melky Cabrerra's hit which came on a pulled in outfield.

Rodon Joining Sox Tomorrow - Working out of Bullpen (Initially)
sammy esposito replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) Already gained the extra year of control, he will be in the rotation within a week or two. No need to worry. Cooper will need a few sessions with Rodon to fine tune his delivery like he did with Sale. -
I bought 3 tickets two months ago but I 'll be at US cellular tomorrow hoping that a Danks renaissance begins.

Channel 50 WPWR-TV Tuesday night
sammy esposito replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Oh, so this is MyTV or whatever. Thanks LH. I'll have to DVR because I am going to Cubbies game. I live 65 miles south on 55. Channel 50 comes in pretty consistently. -
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) They got shutout by the #4 starter on the Twins throwing 87mph all day. Every year The sox can have 9 different players but somehow they can't hit a soft tossing lefty?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) I get the Tex-Mex Burrito every time I go so I will most likely try the tacos on Sunday. My favorite new item from last year: The Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. Can be tough to finish off at the ball park unless you go stand somewhere or sit down but it's stupid good. Can we get some names or pictures of these new offerings. I did see a burger topped with macaroni, bacon on a stick. Any others? It will be hard for me not to opt for any of the newer additions after the scent of the brats and sautéed onions permeate the confines of US cellular.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Gardenhire will end the season as Sox manager Scott Fletcher joins Robin as bench coach Beckham average drops below .100 but still on target to play in 162 games in 2015.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) Robin went 0-41 in 1990, not to start his career in 1989. Ok, we're good on that now. sorry

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Mar 11, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) Being traded................... I remember the manager, Robin Ventura, go 0 for 32 in his first major league at bats. No one gave up on him and went on to a great major league career. I watched Gordon in his spring training debut. He was hitting everything. I couldn't imagine him not making the team. Ozzie said
