  1. Yeah since when do teenagers need any experience above A Ball?
  2. What do injuries have to do with TLR's choice of when to play each catcher? This is true. Unless the Sox are playing in an NL park like they are tonight.
  3. Sox have Goodwin and Leury who could play CF. Sheets can potentially do something whereas Gonzalez...
  4. Yeah the trade market is always flush with great options in early May.
  5. This is unbelieveable. I know ptatc was very curious of how Engel had repeat setbacks. To see this again...
  6. The Sox are the only team that have pitchers who used foreign substances and only their pitchers will be affected by the lack of substance and their hitters will stay the same.
  7. That raised his OPS against lefties on the year to .555 and his career OPS against LHP to .467. What's your point?
  8. Sox face a lefty today and righty tomorrow. What I would do Today vs. LHP R SS Anderson R CF Engel S 3B Moncada R 1B Abreu R LF Vaughn S C Grandal S RF Garcia R 2B Mendick R P Giolito Tomorrow vs. RHP R SS Anderson L RF Lamb S 3B Moncada R 1B Abreu L C Collins R LF Vaughn L CF Goodwin R 2B Mendick R P Cease
  9. A lot of good stuff here. It's pretty simple and a bit disappointing there hasn't been swifter action. 1 - Probably time to option Mercedes. 2 - Lamb plays everyday against RHP. Whether it be DH or RF. 3 - Collins plays against RHP. The frequency of his starts against LHP is setting Collins and the team up for failure. 4 - Grandal and Collins need to play together against RHP. Also Engel has limited track record against RHP but we have to see how he handles himself. Not sure what type of rest schedule they are planning for him but for me he should be in CF for every LHP and half of the RHP.
  10. Yeah Enron didn't get caught either. They were ratted out by a disgruntled employee. John Dillinger was never caught either. Just ratted out by a disgruntled woman in a red hat.
  11. Maybe every team was using them and they weren't dumb enough to get caught?
  12. Yeah the Astros use of technology to cheat is what separates them as a scumbag organization. This isn't Art Kusnyer peaking the bench coach and 3rd base coach all game to try his hand at guessing the signs. This is computer algorithms decoding signs and running thousands of scenarios in seconds time.
  13. Didn't the Astros have a bunch of COVID positives when they were struggling? I am like 90% sure that is case because I took some futures bets on them at that point.
  14. He hit a walkoff home run. His teammates tried to rip his jersey off. As he rounded third to the team pile he signaled them to not rip it off. As he hit the walkoff, of course Rosenthal wanted to interview him after the game. He had to first run to the clubhouse and change into a t shirt and then took the interview. When asked about taking his jersey off or whatever, he asked Rosenthal to repeat the question - something liars do when thinking of an answer. He then said he was shy and his wife wouldn't want him to have his shirt off. There were dozens of pictures of him shirtless posted on his social media. Something was very sketchy there.
  15. Not sure what your point is here. I was just pointing out that your statement that Abreu walks more when Eloy protects him isn't supported by the data.
  16. Except Abreu is posting his highest BB% yet in a season where Eloy hasn't been behind him all year.
  17. Lynn can say he's seen stuff recently that he never saw in the game earlier in his career in reference to Spider tack and these "homemade" concoctions pitchers were using for ultimate stick/grip. Lynn also could have been using pine tar himself. It's not mutually exclusive.
  18. First time I went was August. Got up to 118. Had to walk to the pool with sandals on. I’d imagine they’d have some sort of roof or temp control.
  19. Austin would be cool but already have a few teams in Texas. To me, with the NFL and NHL already making the move, and with gambling advertisers taking over the MLB, Vegas is the move. No realignment needed. The Vegas people really seem to support the Knights. Tourism will carry the team. If the A's moved to Vegas, I would go to Vegas every year for the Sox series if the timing worked out.
  20. Nick Williams has a .512 OPS at Charlotte.
  21. Madrigal is already on the 60.
  22. Nice to see some Kanny guys performing finally. Gladney hitting .361/.423/.583 over his last 10 games. OPS up to .754 on the year. He was hitting .148/.297/.311 on May 26th. Huge turnaround from him. Ramos and Weaver are pretty similar with the bats really waking up the last 2-3 weeks. Rodriguez has ben hitting all year and has continued to do so. Krogman is either hitting or striking out but looks good doing it.
  23. Wow good for him. 3.5 seasons without competing. Nice WHIP and ERA so far. Sox acquired him as a contingency for a TA injury and Wes Helms has Matt Reynolds playing SS and Beckham playing 1B. Tiny thing but that drives me nuts.
  24. Don't rule out Keuchel's vesting option hitting for 2023 😦 I agree and good point. Seriously without extra innings you can lose your DH and still pinch hit your way through the game. Sox should be playing Collins against righties more. While Abreu has come a long way defensively at 1B and really is a source of comfort over there, putting Yaz at 1B and Abreu at DH when Collins catches against RHP is the best course for the team. Sox checked in with Baltimore on Santander when Robert went down.
