  1. Completely agreed. He's been mostly terrible this season, and did nothing with his chance when Yaz went down.
  2. Zack Collins can't feel too good about things right now.
  3. Keuchel pitched pretty well last time out. If Engel doesn't fuck up on that ball in the 1st, its likely a scoreless outing.
  4. Hernandez has been good. Plays a really solid 2B, and as a 9 hitter, which is what he'll be if this team is healthy in October, you could do so much worse. I hated the Madrigal/Kimbrel trade, but if Cesar can play like he has for the next 14 months, we'll be just fine at the keystone.
  5. Seeing as though Lamb has had 1 at bat in 4 games since returning from the IL, including 3 national league park games, TLR may have outgrown that. It also begs the question why exactly he's on this roster. I guess its the left handed bat since we have so few, but he's going to be used so sparingly. My guess is the thought process is to get Sheets everyday at bats for a month or so as opposed to being a sparsely used bench bat.
  6. Literally not a cloud in the sky here in MPLS and 15% chance of rain starting at 11pm. IT won't be raining.
  7. What are you talking about? Counting today, AV has started 9 of the last 12 games. He hasn't sat 5 out 7 days or anything close to it. Should he be sitting 2/3 games? Fuck no. But its not wroth getting all upset about until it becomes a trend, and he certainly isn't stunting his growth. For all we know AV needed a couple days for some reason or another.
  8. I am not really a TLR supporter, though I think he's done a pretty good job at this point. I just am not going to get up in arms about lineups everyday when its been made crystal clear to us that he's going to rest guys reguarly down the stretch. The benefit of a double digit division lead. Do I want AV playing over Leury? Fuckina right I do.
  9. Guys - the sox have 10.5 game lead and I have a feeling we're going to get our A+ lineup pretty rarely the next 7 weeks. Stars are going to sit, probably frequntly. I too want Vaughn in the line-up, but you're gonna get awfully worn out from all the hand-wringing if you can't come to grips with the fact TLR is going to rest guys regularly down the stretch.
  10. I am not so sure. Billy will take one spot. I imagine a reliever would take the other. The Sox may also want to carry 3 catchers. I am not sure Sheets is going to be back in September unless an injury requires it, or the Sox decide to cut Lamb.
  11. Minor league season goes through the end of September of this year.
  12. I think he may just get released today for the 40 man spot ala Tyler Johnson, and Sox try to sign him back.
  13. I'd be surprised. He can still be optioned for another season and this isn't an arm you give up on unless you have to.
  14. It'll be one of Rutherford, Gonzalez, Adolfo, or Mercedes. None have futures with the Sox, unfortunately. I think all would get claimed except Gonzalez (he's hurt anway), so that would be my play and wait until the fall to make the moves on the other 3. But yeah, I don't see any of those guys appearing in Chicago moving forward. Makes me sad on Adolfo.
  15. I assume Sheets will be the corresponding move, and the kid deserves a round of applause. Go down and rake in AAA for the next month and maybe find yourself back in Chicago in September. Well done, kid!
  16. I would think TA will be out today since he was supposed to sit last night. But that was his best game in a while so maybe they don't want to sit him now. I will be in attendance tonight and tomorrow. Let's get some dubs!
  17. ReyLo has been awesome. But he still has ALOT of work to do to convince the Sox not to non-tender him in December. He’ll be between $3-4M in arb. But if he keeps throwing like this they’ll probably have to bring him back. But that’s a big if.
  18. I can pretty much guarantee you the Sox won’t be the high bidders on Rodon. Ride him hard.
  19. Yasmani has been very sorely missed. Dude makes an enormous difference on this team.
  20. Lol. Sometimes pitchers give up hits.
