  1. IF you're resting Eloy until Friday, just IL him and get another body up here. Since they haven't done that, I would suspect we'll see him in this Royals series.
  2. I don’t believe Mendick is eligible. It hasn’t been 10 days and he’s not replacing an injured player (Lambert).
  3. Sooo we think Robert, Lamb or a surprise is the move today?
  4. Anyone ever spill the beans about these eyebrow raising Madrigal stories that are apparently out there.....?
  5. The chances Rutherford gets DFA'd, clears waivers, is outrighted, and then gets taken in the Rule 5 draft is about as high as you and I playing in the MLB next year. If another team wants Rutherford, they'll just grab him off waivers when he gets DFA'd in a couple months (or sooner) and not have to hold him on the MLB roster for the entirety of 2022 to retain him.
  6. Probably to the Rays. Where he hits 35 homers in 2022.
  7. While I don't think Sheets is a good defender, I've been surprised by his range. He's made a couple catches in the gap I was shocked he got to. I think he makes that play yesterday. I also think Goodwin makes that play most of the time. The ball Goodwin dropped on Saturday night, Sheets just plays off the wall.
  8. I didn't think they'd bring Robert back quite yet, but with the offday yesterday it wouldn't be terribly surprising. One of Rutherford, Gonzalez, Adolfo or Yermin will be on the DFA chopping block.
  9. I don't see how this can be accurate. Obviously lots of injuries league wide, but how many teams have lost 4/9 major offensive producers with serious injuries. Our health on the SP side has certainly helped alleviate some things, but 19th? GMAFB.
  10. I hope Carlos Perez can be our backup next year.
  11. I don’t dislike Brian Goodwin. He’s overall been pretty darn solid and at times a great stop gap. But he’s a legitimately awful OF. It’s hard to watch. He’s cost the Sox many times, including several recently. I dont think it’s some crime to want him nowhere near the starting the lineup. He’s not good.
  12. Well someone’s gotta go when Robert and Lamb come back. Maybe it’s Sheets and Lamb never comes back, but there’s only so many roster spots. It’s probably not Goodwin, but prior to that huge Homer, he’s been mostly terrible for several weeks.
  13. Im generally very positive Sox fan…but that home run doesn’t change the fact that he’s close to playable in the OF and has cost the some NUMEROUS times with terrible defense. But he’s got some pop and can hit righties and that’s something this team sorely lacks. It’s not his fault this team is so banged up. He’s also not very good. But he’s gonna stay around, and hopefully he starts catching the ball.
  14. He lives to fight another day! Hahah but we’ll take it!
  15. I miss 2019 Yoan. Edit for clarity: he’s still really good. Just doesn’t have that exit velo and pop we’ve seen before.
  16. True. Plenty of useless fodder at the back end now that that deadline has come and gone. Gonzalez, Rutherford, Adolfo (sad), and Mercedes are unlikely to ever factor into the Sox plans again at this juncture.
  17. I feel terrible watching him. He’s had legitimately like 8+ gaffes in the past 2 weeks. Any margin for error he had is long gone.
  18. Send Goodwin into orbit after this game. It’s ovah. He’s unplayable in the OF.
  19. Like 2 weeks ago I said I’d never badmouth Goodwin cause he had been pretty dang solid. But fuck he’s been terrible since then.
  20. Lambert probably goes right back down tho, so Robert can effectively take Billy’s spot if they bring up up Tuesday. Probably going to be Lamb tho. TLR said he didn’t expect Luis for Royals series.
  21. Nah. Sox should have picked up another OF.
  22. Leury is a plenty capable OF. Goodwin is the problem.
  23. Well there is the Billy phantom IL stint some of us expected.
