  1. Sure, but the clock is ticking… Time to start making some moves before we run out of time.
  2. Finding one that can put up a 4+ WAR season is quite difficult though. Look, they should trade ROBERT if they can get something decent for him. But dumping him for a back end top 20 prospect just doesn't really do much for me. I personally would rather run it back next season than take a poor return. The payroll can certainly sustain it, and the Sox could be interesting-ish next season.
  3. Colson has looked amazing. Absolutely love to see it. Was not at all expecting him to look this comfortable against big league pitching. Sox deserve alot of credit for fixing him with their little AZ vacation earlier this season.
  4. Have you seen this man hit? I hadn't until a couple weeks ago. I've never been more confident in a guy not translating to be the bigs leagues than I was after watching that.
  5. AV can hit a little bit. He did it for the Sox at times too. But he can also go in long ruts offensively and provides literally nothing else of value. I'm glad he's succeeding, honestly. Chances are extremely high he is still a negative war player moving forward.
  6. Most the board wanted to DFA AV. Half those people are now hand wringing. It's amazing.
  7. While I agree, I think they'd prefer Lee to play everyday versus a few starts a month. I hope they trade Lee next couple days personally, out of options next season. Imagine Padres would give up something for him.
  8. Assuming Sox are able to clear some of the vets off this roster the next few days, they should bring in recently DFA Eric Haase for no other reason than Venable being willing to play Quero and Teel together. Feel like half of Haase career homers have come against the Sox.
  9. You can sign Houser to that deal in 4 months if you want. You absolutely take the 40 grade prospect.
  10. Why would the Braves even bother picking up $ here? They're 16 games below .500. Strange.
  11. How do you fit him and Vargas into lineup everyday over the next 4+ seasons? Especially with the Sox seemingly giving up on Vargas at 3B. They feel like extremely similar players.
  12. Robert + Taylor for Crawford does not equal high level closer price, imo. But yeah, if someone wants to give us a premium position player prospect for him, sure. But as a sweetener in a Robert deal? Pass.
  13. Trading Taylor would be silly. I don't get it.
  14. Sure. Fair to question. Deal always felt a player light at the time considering how well Fedde was pitching. But it's obvious the league didn't value Fedde like Soxtalk did, and less than a year later we can see why. But all things considered, deal looks fine for Sox at this point. Far from a bamboozling.
  15. Idk, I feel like the Fedde trade looks fine at this point. I'd much rather have Vargas/Albertus/Perez than Fedde and Kopech at this juncture.
  16. If he gets released, absolutely bring him back on a minor league deal for the prorates league min. He had so much success with the Sox. He might actually pick them over other options, if he has any.
  17. These three never would have overlapped. Expecting to keep elite SP past their arb years is silly for literally any org. Stupid mental exercise.
  18. Right? It's 15 at bats. I wouldn't rule out AV being an average hitter again, but the guy isn't suddenly Hank Aaron because he switched jerseys. He was pretty brutal at AAA Nashville too.
  19. Is there a recap anywhere where I can read about Sox draftees today? Got slammed at work today and just now checking in. Thanks in advance.
  20. He's 32, soon to be 33. He can be signed in the offseason, if Getz so desires. Trade him for the best offer before he turns into a pumpkin. Anything else would be insane decision making.
