So is he now LHH only? See some places still have him listed as switch hitter.

Also this bros middle name is Tater. Already a fan.

Workman is a legit defensive SS right?

I agree it creates a roster jam as a 1B only, but Maton or Palacios. If they aren't going to DH Quero 90% of the time that he does not catch, let Elko take those ABs at DH/1B. -

Burke has been fine. 5 IP 2 ER is totally acceptable. That inning is on Luis, who appears to be fine taking a big pay cut on $20M for 2026. -

I am all for anything that results in less Amaya but Dalbec at SS is comical -

Amaya must depart this roster. -
Thanks for clarification on waiver order. Yeah...seems unlikely he makes it to waivers tbh. Sox probably can't fix him but they should as hell should try.
-
Sox should absolutely be trying to acquire. Rockies would get first dibs, so might need to work out a trade. Results haven't been great but he's very talented.
-
I have not been one clamoring for Elko immediately, but Dalbec over Elko is an interesting one. Neither really cover anything but 1B/DH. Both hit RH. I guess Dalbec could stand at 3B, but he's not going to over the other incumbent 3B options. Dalbec has been solid so far, but he's nearly 30. I guess perhaps Sox feel his 40 man spot will be easier to clear than Elko? That's about the only reason I can see for this decision. Unless Lee is really close and we will start seeing Quero at DH most days he's not catching, then there really aren't At bats for Elko at the moment.

It's his thumb, I thought.
-
Casas is just a brutal 1B.
-
Did not see it mentioned anywhere here, but according to Sox transactions page, they did bring Juan Carela back in a minors deal. Which is good news.
-
End the Palacios experiment asap
-
Feels like you kind of have to. He cleared waivers; no longer in the 40 man. You're paying him the $1.5M anyway. Not exactly flush with starters after all the injuries. Someone's gotta start games if more injuries happen.

Please give the starts to Vasil over Schuster or Wilson.

Palacios must not enjoy being a big leaguer -
The 30.5% K rate vs 6.7% BB rate against minor league pitching might be a pretty good indicator this dude would get torched by big league pitching. I am fine with Elko playing over those 2. But those two aren't really going to be playing much with Quero up and Beni back, and soon Lee returning. I think one of Quero / Beni will be at DH most days.

Sure. But Vaughn was also pretty playable June on last season. I believe his wRC+ was around 115 after June 1st. Not really defending the guy - he's been a huge disappointment - but cutting him under 20 games into this season to make room for a guy that is the same age and isn't really much of prospect is pretty silly. But he's shown stretches as recently as the last four months of last season that he is at least a playable major league bat. Obviously the fact he brings next to nothing to the table certainly does not help. I just think unless he continues to be absolutely terrible into the early summer and trade season, we may as well just see if he can get hot and become tradeable. Though admittedly, he's not going to return much even if that scenario plays out.
