  1. Meh. Soxtalk is one small % of Sox fans. Plenty out there seem to think he's the savior without looking any further. Fwiw - I think Elko has earned a shot. I just don't think he'll be any good when gets it.
  2. Right!? Sox fans crack me up. I've been as hard on Colson as anyone, but "s%*# or get off the pot" time is at least two years away. Dude just turned 23. And the rest of the fanbase is ready to anointp Tim Elko, who is the same age as AV, the savior of the franchise.
  3. Plays like this for another 6-8 weeks and he's definitely returning a top 100 prospect or two. Big if tho, one streaky dude!
  4. That deal was definitely a player short with Kopech being involved. But it's obvious no one was going to give up a ton for Erick Fedde, a back end rotation guy having a really nice first half. Vargas was clearly the most interesting offensive piece they were offered in return. If Vargas can even be a just a meh starter putting up 6-8 WAR over his Sox tenure, the deal was a win for the Sox. Still a very big if. But you also have two very decent premium position prospects as well, which we all know the Sox need in spades. "Fallout disaster" seems to be reach.
  5. Huh? He is currently on pace for 2 fWAR, which is what I said. Almost all do that has come in this small sample of him being really good, yes. No one is denying that. He could forget how to bat again tomorrow. But he's hitting and outside of a blunder today, he's been excellent in the field which wasn't really expected. It's a positive development - enjoy it for a millisecond man. It's ok.
  6. Shrug. Vargas has actually looked pretty darn good the last couple weeks. 2 WAR isn't exactly a huge number or anything, but getting that out of him would be nice. IDGAF about Sheets, totally different player and circumstance.
  7. Miguel Vargas now on pace to exceed 2 fWAR and Jake Burger is optioned to the minor leagues.
  8. If you're going to keep running AV out there, at least move him down to the bottom third of the lineup. On the bright side, Robert showing some signs of life and Vargas looking like a legit big leaguer since the mechanical changes to his swing.
  9. Probably less of a kick in the nuts than looking helpless against AAA pitching. Colson has no one to blame but himself.
  10. I like the final version much more than the prototype we saw a few weeks ago. And if they're keeping the black Southside Js, this is all good for me.
  11. Vaughn has 4 full years of service, not 5. You need 5.0 before you cannot be optioned.
  12. My guess is Elko will be in Chicago tomorrow. I personally would just option AV at this point to avoid the problem I lay out below. No need to DFA him - send him to AAA to try to get right. But I doubt the Sox actually do that to him. At this point you pretty much have to put Elko on the roster. But if you do, one of AV, Elko or Quero have to be on the bench each day Quero does not catch. And once Lee returns, it only becomes more difficult to manage because it appears to me they're going to have to carry 3 catchers. Pretty tough to carry 3 catchers and 2 1B/DH only, and Lee likely isn't too far off from returning. AV just sitting on the bench does not make much sense. You either need to play him, or send him to AAA and play him there.
  13. Could still option AV. Would be an un White Sox thing to do but maybe a few weeks hitting against inferior pitching would help the guy out.
  14. Drury has not hit at all in AAA. I'd let that happen first before we worry about him.
  15. In what world is $3.5M a high salary in MLB? It's mice nuts
  16. Gilbert opening again today? When's the last time a pitcher had started back to back games?
  17. So is he now LHH only? See some places still have him listed as switch hitter.
  18. Also this bros middle name is Tater. Already a fan.
  19. Workman is a legit defensive SS right?
  20. I agree it creates a roster jam as a 1B only, but Maton or Palacios. If they aren't going to DH Quero 90% of the time that he does not catch, let Elko take those ABs at DH/1B.
  21. Hell be in Chicago Tuesday, I have to imagine.
  22. Vargas suddenly looking hitterish. Good development
  23. Burke has been fine. 5 IP 2 ER is totally acceptable. That inning is on Luis, who appears to be fine taking a big pay cut on $20M for 2026.
  24. Interested to watch this game in a minor league park.
  25. I am all for anything that results in less Amaya but Dalbec at SS is comical
