Rodon isn't taking some home town discount to stay with the Sox. He's going to get paid, and frankly, the Sox shouldn't be the ones to pay him. Way too much risk there. Lynn I could maybe see re-signing, but there is pretty much no chance both Lynn and Rodon are with the Sox in 22. Giolito, Kopech, Keuchel, Cease and FA will be the 22 rotation.

Is the Sox could get Merrifield for Adolfo + any of their pitching prospects not on the MLB roster, he'd be a White Sox already. And the rest of the league would be kicking themselves for not inquiring. This isn't even remotely close to an offer that would work.

Yeah - last night was still puzzling. Still think other factors were at play last night - I expect them to try to get this one in.

Forecast Looks worse than last night honestly.

If Jose isn’t hitting the IL, wonder who is going to AAA for Sheets. Must be Gonzalez.

I think Yoan has made it pretty clear he is quite fragile, in a number of ways. He's a good 3B and a well above average player. Just leave him alone. Some guys can be used all over, some can't. We don't know that he can't, but he strikes me as a guy that should just be left alone. He's already been moved from 2B to 3B and hasn't made an appearance elsewhere since, so I wouldn't expect that to change any time soon.

Is it really the Sox place to just PPD a playable game because they're banged up? Like do they even have the authority to do that?

Looks like Sox just didn't want to play today. 15% chance of rain all night.

Is the home team solely in control of when the make-up is scheduled if a team returns later in the year. IE - are we sure this was solely the Sox decision, and not one that they have to get OK'd by MN?

Lame, wanted to watch baseball tonight.

Booooooo to whoever made yesterday's game thread.

Trading away even just a role-player with 6+ years of cheap control is a bad trade for an average player with 3 months control. Pretty much any player that is going to produce something at the major league level that has that much control is worth more than Escobar. Burger is already pretty close and at this point, barring another catastrophic injury, is going to be a big leaguer. Now you have to give to get, but to me, this seems much more like a trade that you give up something that is much further from the big leagues and has a much higher chance of never making it. I certainly wouldn't be beside myself if the Sox traded Burger for Escobar, but I don't think it should require that. Don't blame AZ for starting there, tho.

I'd certainly rather watch Adolfo than Gonzalez. Gonzalez can at least play a respectable OF which is my assumption as to why he was the one. I don't think Micker is much of a defender. Offensively tho, at least Micker could run into some, which is something this lineup needs considering the current state of the OF.

I don't believe there is a double header tomorrow.

Calhoun is on the IL, and would be a very underwhelming RF for 2022. Sure he helps right now (if/when healthy), but if you're going to get an OF that will stay beyond 2021, I sure hope they aim higher than Calhoun. Escobar is a great stop gap. We need some professional hitters in the lineup. I too don't want to give up anything of value for 3 months of an average player. But its going to require something.
