  1. He unfortunately has been somewhat forgettable lately.
  2. I don't think Vaughn will be sitting or Hamilton starting against RHP.
  3. He's actually only for sure controlled for 2022, and then has that vesting option in 2023. I haven't reviewed the option recently, but I recall there being some uncertainty as to whether Kuechel needed to throw 160 innings in each 21 and 22, or combined. If the former, there is definitely a chance he's gone after 2022. If the latter, he's highly likely to be here in 23.
  4. He is, in fact, a rock solid starter. What he was done in comparison to the other Sox starters is pretty much irrelevant. As is his 1 playoff start in a Sox uni. I provided you the state - Dallas has been more than adequate as a ChiSox. You just don't like his stuff, which is what it is. He isn't a hard thrower and hasn't been for some time. If Keuchel is a teams 5th starter, you're doing quite well.
  5. This is like the third time i've entered this thread and saw this post and groaned to myself about another PPD.
  6. I saw him come up a bit lame legging out a catch in foul territory in LF in the 9th on Sunday. He stayed in game but could see that it bit him. Well here it is...
  7. Lol, alright man. Keep living in fantasy world. The Sox didn't sign Keuchel to be a fire throwing ace. Keuchel is 12-4 with a 3.13 ERA and 3.71 FIP with the Sox. What exactly are you looking for? He's fine and FAR from this clubs problem. He has no trade value because he's paid what he's worth. The Sox are not in a position to give away a rock solid mid rotation starter for nothing, to turn around and pay market value for an enormous injury risk in Rodon. Rodon has never thrown over 165 innings in his career. He is on pace to surpass that this year if he remains healthy. He's pitched 69 or less innings the 3 of the last 4 seasons. The mileage on Rodon's arm after 2021 is going to be something he hasn't experienced in since 2016. Not something I would bet on holding up all that well for him. I like Carlos and wish him well. I am absolutely stoked for him that he's figured things out. He is our ace right now. But I don't want my team to be paying him $15M a year to sit on the IL the next few seasons.
  8. Yeah, forgot the sox have been playing a man short on the bench.
  9. Lol, Keuchel is signed. Rodon and Lynn are FAs. I love how you're penciling in 2 dudes that are FA, but removing the guy signed for 22 (and likely 2023). Of course I want Lynn. So will 29 other clubs. He seems to like it here so maybe the Sox can get him to re-sign, but its far from a certainty. Hence the "maybe I could see Lynn resigning" comment. Rodon is gone after 2021 man. At minimum, he's getting something like 3/$45M due to his history. The Sox should not the high bidders on this one as its extremely likely to not turn out well. And they know that. Ride him hard in 2021, and let him get paid and injured with someone else.
  10. Great, so none of the core is "quickly approaching FA". Sounds good - thanks for proving my point.
  11. Who are these key players rapidly appraoching FA? The Sox core is mostly locked up. Sure, losing 2021 version of Rodon sucks, and Lynn too. But the Sox have a pretty damn good replacement in Kopech to step in for 1 of them, and they're going to have to sign a FA SP. No matter how much you try to talk the Sox ripping this core apart into reality to make yourself feel better or something, its not happening.
  12. Rodon isn't taking some home town discount to stay with the Sox. He's going to get paid, and frankly, the Sox shouldn't be the ones to pay him. Way too much risk there. Lynn I could maybe see re-signing, but there is pretty much no chance both Lynn and Rodon are with the Sox in 22. Giolito, Kopech, Keuchel, Cease and FA will be the 22 rotation.
  13. Is the Sox could get Merrifield for Adolfo + any of their pitching prospects not on the MLB roster, he'd be a White Sox already. And the rest of the league would be kicking themselves for not inquiring. This isn't even remotely close to an offer that would work.
  14. Yeah - last night was still puzzling. Still think other factors were at play last night - I expect them to try to get this one in.
  15. Avi is on the Brewers. Not sure how that is relevant. And Glasnow has missed what - 3 starts to date? Sucks moving forward for them but it hasn’t had an impact like Eloy or Luis.
  16. Forecast Looks worse than last night honestly.
  17. Seems like a poor allocation of resources for a penny pinching org like the Sox.
  18. I’d rather spend that money on a legit OF this offseason.
  19. Blackmon kind of sucks now and is still due a boatload of money in 22 and 23. Don't think he's an option.
  20. Yoan pisses me off at times too. He’s not a perfect player. But he’s incredibly talented and hopefully the best is still in front of him. We’ve seen already seen a 45 day stretch this season of him being extremely elite.
  21. Yoan is really, really good. He’s easily in that conversation.
  22. If Jose isn’t hitting the IL, wonder who is going to AAA for Sheets. Must be Gonzalez.
