  1. Another guy competing for a spot. Nice little deal.
  2. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 01:19 PM) I wish we would just move Rodon to the bullpen already.
  3. I've got Lopez penciled in as a mid-rotation started for the next half decade. 1. Kopech 2. Rodon 3. Giolito 4. Lopez 5. Hansen With guys like Cease, Dunning, Fulmer, Adams, Stephens, Guerrero, Clarkin, Viera, Bummer filling out the pen. I could see Dunning in the startwe mix if one of those guys fail, or get traded.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jan 29, 2018 -> 02:13 PM) And they'll both be here OD '19 too 2 great players who will definitely be here for the long haul I see basically no scenario that Avi is here for the "long haul".
  5. Isn’t Cooper the guy that took an unexplained leave of absence for a month or two in the middle of the season last year?
  6. Can we please get Asche removed from the banner?
  7. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 12:51 PM) Nice work and happy for you that this was an opportunity for you. Still looking forward to seeing you advance in the field. Agreed!
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 01:13 PM) And share the proper Sox email to send a complaint + tax
  9. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 01:10 PM) Can you share the org's reasoning as to why exclude a site like FS? Seriously. I am curious too. Was hoping the backlash on twitter would get them to change their minds.
  10. Domingo Santana is the Brewer's version of Avi. He's a terrible defender (actually worse than Avi), they have no DH spot to hide him, and he probably just had the best season he'll ever have in the bigs. He's not a great baseball player, and now is the time to sell high. BUT 30 HOMERS!!!!!!!
  11. QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Jan 26, 2018 -> 10:17 AM) The Yelich trade makes sense if they wanted to use the savings of not signing Cain for a SP. Signing Cain makes sense if they wanted to save their prospect capital for a SP trade. The both together make zero sense at all. Brewers spinning their wheels. They still have a fair amount of prospect / OF capital. Some mixture of Broxton, Phillips and Santana will get them a SP, if they don't want to spend on the FA market.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 23, 2018 -> 11:18 AM) I wouldn't in this case. Burr isn't in our T30. He's an arm worth tracking, don't get me wrong. But the system is deep enough there were a bunch of guys not even on the Just MIssed that could be real prospects. For relievers alone there are Ryan Burr, Brian Clark, Connor Walsh, Matt Foster, Danny Dopico, Kevin Escorcia, Victor Diaz, Will Kincanon, and JB Olson. All of them have MLB potential. But relievers generally have a much harder case to make to be ranked. What about Andre Davis?
  13. If you're into counting top 100 prospects, we could very well have 8-10 by midseason as guys graduate. Jimenez, Kopech, Robert, Hansen, Rutherford, Cease, Collins, Dunning, Burger and Sheets are all top 150. I don't expect any of them to lose their prospect status until at least September in the case of Jimenez and Kopech, the rest won't see the bigs this year. They could all be on most mid season lists.
  14. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 11:37 AM) I am, but I am not. Law has proven wrong many times about Sox prospects in the past. I don't take his rankings to heart. Fact of the matter is we had 6 guys who were infused into our young team last year and all had solid debuts. Then 5 more guys who are locked for Top 100 in most lists. Then you have guys like Cease, Collins, Rutherford, Burdi, and Burger who just missed the 100 on most lists. Oh and by way, we have the 4th pick in the next draft, and payroll savings to make a big splash in the upcoming free agency. This. Prospect rankings are great and all, but what really matters is the team you're building on the big league field. Add Moncada, Anderson, Rodon, Giolito, Lopez, and Fulmer to our top 100 and just missed guys, and the Sox future looks as bright as anyone in baseball.
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 11:18 AM) I don’t even think Law would exclude Robert from his list, but you just never know with him. I was expecting to see him in the 51-100 range, so guessing he's probably not in there.
  16. Anyone with insider willing to share the list? Thanks in advance.
  17. Was hoping to see Stephens or Guerrero grab the 5th spot until Rodon is healthy, but with the Gonzalez signing, I don't think we'll see that. Unless they want to send Fulmer back to AAA.
  18. This would be a silly good deal for the Sox. Not directed at you CES, but I also don’t see how Avi could be in a Brewers deal unless he is going to the third team. Yanks obviously would not be a fit for Avi.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 02:50 PM) Hansen, Cease, and Rutherford has been my proposed package all along and matches what they are supposedly asking for. Other teams like Braves could beat that though. No way I’m trading Hansen. Cease and Rutherford I could get behind, but not much after that.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 02:21 PM) Yet everyone seems to feel bad for the owners having to spend money, even though they are all 10x richer than the players. I don't feel bad for the owners. But MLB players makes loads of money. Their salaries have increased significantly with time, and I am sure will continue to increase. Just because the operating business is making money more money doesn't necessarily mean that the player's salaries need to increase by the same amount. It's not like these guys are making minimum wage and being worked against their will...
  21. Still don't see how trading Eaton (a cost controlled long term asset) for Gio, Lopez and Dunning and turning around moving at least 1 of those assets + much more for Yelich makes any sense. Yelich is very good, but he's no superstar. I think the Sox are definitely interested, but I highly doubt it is anywhere near the level of interest required to actually acquire him. Something like Rutherford, Dunning, Stephens and Call or Fisher would be my max offer. Which I doubt gets it done, but the Marlins haven't exactly helped their negotiating power to this point.
  22. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jan 19, 2018 -> 01:39 PM) When expressed as a percentage of what the total profit is, yes, they are. Baseball players make an exorbitant amount of money. I don't feel bad for them, and no one else should either.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 11:36 AM) I have a request. I can't view Twitter at work (where I view Soxtalk). Can people copy/paste Twitter comments etc here, instead of just the link - please? Same request here.
  24. QUOTE (Jimmy3Putt @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 05:56 AM) As in Iron man Robert? He'll always be French Canadian "RoBay" to me. I prefer the french Canadian "RoBear"....and I am sticking with it!
  25. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 11:16 AM) Yes. I have it Eloy, Kopech, (both top 10), Hansen and Robert (both top 50). Then I'd guess Cease around 80 and Dunning just outside MLB.com has already released info that reflected 6 Sox in top 100. So 2 of Cease, Dunning, or Rutherford are in the top 100 after Eloy, Kopech, Hansen and Robert.
