  1. This was always going to be a developmental year for Cease. Never should’ve been the #3, he’s a 5 on a good rotation. I fully expect him to bounce back next year with the experience he gained this year.
  2. Brandon Nimmo or Joc Pederson Liam Hendricks Brad Miller Kevin Gausman/Marcus Stroman Keone Kela
  3. Hopefully it’s a blister
  4. Tomorrow I’m riding with Madrigal but I’m DH’ing Eloy and I’m starting Crochet
  5. The Sox shouldn’t overpay for a backup catcher. There a better ways to spend that money.
  6. I thought Renteria blew the game when he brought Giolito back out. The playoffs are not the time to be making gaffes like that.
  7. If most of the team isn’t hitting, they’re not getting on base at all it seems like. Grandal can go through a slump with the bat but you can still count on him to take his bases. If you have a lineup with guys like Anderson, Robert, even Madrigal to a degree, you need guys to balance them out so to speak. 8% is considered to be an average walk rate. 10% is consider to be above average. The position players the Sox bring in need to have a walk rate of above 8%.
  8. Hate sending Giolito back out there. Pull him, he’s over 100 pitches and it’s the third time through the order.
  9. https://medium.com/minor-league-madhouse/2021-mlb-mock-draft-1-0-14b64c20a2da This has the Sox taking prep catcher, Joe Mack out of New York
  10. Keep hitting him 9, the ideal 9 hitter. I don’t want him batting leadoff and certainly not second.
  11. Deleted comment, I read your post wrong but I’d keep Madrigal at 9. I’d want my more powerful hitters batting higher in the order.
  12. I’m talking about guys with high walk rates, walk rates that are close to 10%. I don’t see Madrigal ever having a walk rate in that area. The Sox need to take more walks.
  13. Will be more detailed later but the Sox need to add more OBP guys to the roster. Moncada and Grandal are not enough. I hope they spin the wheels on Pederson for RF and Brad Miller as a bench piece this offseason.
  14. Someone please explain to me how Cooper isn’t a good PC.
  15. He’s going to be a good weapon to have at your disposal either way
  16. I called it
  17. Where’s this energy for the dudes who threw and called the pitch?
  18. What’s Giolito’s ERA against Minnesota?
  19. Walks will kill you
  20. 1, maybe 2 starting pitchers. A lockdown closer. Solid lefty bench bat. Average production from RF.
  21. Sox should consider calling up Crochet so he can be playoff eligible in case Bummer and Fry are still on the mend at the end of the season/going into the playoffs.
  22. Really want to see Tyler Johnson up with the club
