  1. Good shit, he can join the team now
  2. I don’t think Kris Bryant has been vaccinated yet, I don’t think most Cubs players are so because of that I don’t want him to be on the Sox. They could win the WS this year and it would suck if an outbreak were to happen and change the course of the season.
  3. I just wish the Sox spent big on teenagers in the Dominican & Venezuela
  4. I really like Kevin Parada, Georgia Tech has kind of become a factory for quality college catchers. Another guy I really like is Hayden Dunhurst, the catcher from Ole Miss. Montgomery and Kath are welcome additions to the system but the Sox need more athletes and more true up the middle guys
  5. A big win for Marco Paddy and the Sox player development. They getting better at this sort go thing
  6. The Sox don't have the bonus to make that work, plus he's firm on going to school. The Royals might be able to do it but I think that's the only team who can take a real swing at signing him.
  7. I imagine its going to go 1: Kelley 2: Montgromrey 3: Kath 4: Thompson
  8. I would really like it if the Sox nabbed a C before the end of the day. I like Patrick Winkle out of UCONN. MLB Pipeline: Winkel was a solid high school prospect in Connecticut, one whom the Yankees drafted late in 2018, but decided to honor his commitment to his home-state UConn. A strong freshman season in 2019 got people excited, but he missed 2020 following Tommy John surgery. He came back healthy in 2021, but while he threw better than expected, his offensive performance was a bit more uneven. Winkel does fit a profile teams covet as a left-handed hitting catcher with power. He has above-average raw pop and did get to it in 2021 to hit 11 homers, but while he made a lot of contact and drew walks overall, he did most of his damage against fastballs, struggling against breaking stuff and leading some to wonder if there's enough hit tool for him to keep getting to that power consistently at the next level. While he's not a runner, Winkel is athletic behind the plate and is an average overall receiver and his arm bounced back better than anticipated, giving scouts confidence he'll be just fine behind the plate. That, plus the raw power are enough to think he might be a backup as a pro, with the chance for him to be more if the bat bounces back overall.
  9. Gotta save $ somewhere. Would like for them to nab a closer EDIT: I meant Catcher, not closer. My bad
  10. Loved Peyton Stovall. He’s going to be a top 10/15 pick 2024
  11. Hope the Sox go with a prep bat in Round 2. I know there’s smoke about them going after some prep arm there. Praying that Peyton Stovall (who can rake) or Wes Kath is there in Round 2.
  12. Look around baseball, high upside prep players are high valuable. The pieces the Cubs got back from SD aren’t bad, it’s been reported that a lot of the team analytics models really like Owen Cassie for example. The Dads drafted him in 2020 and were able to move him quickly. Look at another SD trade, the Joe Musgrove deal was headlined by Hudson Head. If the Sox had more of a prep focus in recent years, they would’ve have an easier time making trades now. Their farm system is old, it lacks upside across the board and that has to change.
  13. If you want to extend the window and keep things going long term, prep guys help you do that. They might not be ready a quickly but they generally offer more upside.
  14. No, Grandal is the most valuable player and the most irreplaceable player in the org by far. He's the only guy on the tea that you can count on to always consistently get on base. He's the only quality MLB catcher in the org, I'm talking about catching and receiving here only. There's no Andrew Vaughn, or Mendick, Garcia that can come up and adequately fill in. The drop off is tremendous.
  15. The most valuable player on the team. The one dude who couldn't get hurt.
  16. A win for the Sox PD staff. They've gotten so much better there.
  17. The Sox have a pretty undesirable farm system and they lack a lot of any real exciting prospects, outside of Jared Kelley. Hopefully, they rethink their approach to amateurs, in the draft and in Latin America to be more like the Padres, who are loaded with a lot of high upside, up the middle types.
  18. If the Sox passed on Harry Ford, Gavin Williams, Wes Kath and Peyton Stovall to select Jud Fabian everyone here should be furious. I would be if that happens.
  19. Fabian is such a weird case study because he was a projected top 5 pick to open draft seasons and then he wasn’t even considered to be a first round guy by mid season but he’s played his way back into first round consideration. Weird season.
  20. If I’m a veteran on the team, someone who’s been on the team for the rebuild years, I’m getting the guys together trying to convince everyone to not play the game and forfeit till TLR and Reaindorf publicly apologizes for this bullshit.
