  1. I could live with Sheets in LF until Colas is up if they actually sign a real LH OF. He best never play RF again though.
  2. Gotcha. Opt in if you want, but you're a back up either way. If so let's hope they have an actual plan that doesn't include Eloy, Sheets, and AV in the OF every day.
  3. Yeah, which doesn't exactly bode well. And cheap mediocre 4th OF fits the bill if they really are as "cash strapped" as they have hinted.
  4. What was the story there? I don't remember the context.
  5. Really hope this doesn't mean Engel is back. It really is time to move on.
  6. For anyone hoping Wong would hit the open market.
  7. I'll be surprised if he nets what he would have had he stayed, but if the clubhouse was as toxic as it seemed, I can hardly blame him. A few $M less to be somewhere he wants to be at the tail end of his career does make sense.
  8. I’m guessing he will return to the pen once fully healthy. I imagine Hahn is trying to salvage his “window” and will want/need cheap additions to cover for his high priced garbage in the pen. Turning Crochet into a start likely never happens in this org.
  9. The Sox hires actually look qualified for the job, unlike what they've force fed us in the past. We could be talking about another TLR, or fucking Ozzie, another Robin, or Getz, or Thome.
  10. Yeah, I myself will sing the verses of White Sox skepticism. I don't need you chiming in there. I'm just trying to be rational and judge the hires on their resumes and not kick them to the curb for taking an MLB job with a bad org. The White Sox themselves are a bad org. Shitting on someone for working for KC is dumb when we still support *this* shitty org.
  11. The baseball blue checkmarks seem to be going out of their way this morning to convince everyone that 2022 erases 2017 without actually calling it a redemption. It’s pretty gross to me.
  12. Are we not also one of the worse franchises over the past seven years? Major League Baseball jobs are few and far between. There are only so many opportunities. I’m giving these hires, the men themselves, the benefit of the doubt. They have worked all around baseball in many facets, I’m not going to hold them responsible for a lack of org talent or greater org problems beyond their control. Their resumes look qualified to me, so coming from KC, a team with more recent success than our own White Sox, is not something I will hold against them right now.
  13. This should come with zero surprise. Even if anyone on staff offered insight or advice it fell on deaf ears. TLR just did whatever his fermented HOF baseball person brain thought best regardless of how antiquated and or out of touch. This was pretty obvious to anyone paying attention.
  14. It may ultimately mean nothing if they don’t win games, and perhaps it will soon feel hollow after moves are or aren’t made, but I’m not upset that they seem to be trying.
  15. Maybe it’s all just PR fluff, but I like that Pedro is going out of his way to endear himself to fans and players alike. Maybe they realised how bad TLR turned everyone off and it’s more for those reasons, but I still like the effort.
  16. This. Being upset that an org is concerned about connecting to half the player population is certainly a curious take.
  17. I'd prefer Conforto on a rebound deal. Benintendi might be cheaper and wouldn't be a bad get, but he's really not a RF.
  18. He's not a perfect solution, but I wouldn't hate it. Knowing how limited their funds and tradable assets are he might fit the bill. Or at least until Colas comes us.
