  1. I’m not drinking the kool aid yet but much better showings the last two games. Is it sustainable? Will the same level of focus and effort be there every game? We shall see.
  2. I wouldn’t hate acquiring Wong if they actually addressed OF and SP beforehand. The defense is a concern and he does feel like someone the Sox would pick up right as he fell off a cliff offensively. If they are actually cutting payroll it makes little sense not to roll with Romy/Sosa and address other more pressing needs.
  3. For the low low price of $10M, the Sox could quite possibly have the worst INF defence to go along with the slowest corner OF’s in the game! That Rick Han sure knows how to light stacks of money on fire in new and creative ways.
  4. If funds are so limited, spending $10M on a 2B seems pretty stupid. But it is Rick Hahn we are talking about.
  5. I seem to recall him being pretty brutal out there too. Not exactly what I’d call a solution, but if we are swapping bad contracts, I wouldn’t hate it.
  6. Can he play a passable LF? If Miami wanted to trade him for Sox overpaid garbage, sure, but I don’t see why they would.
  7. Wasn't it Renteria that went to Abreu to convince him to work on his 1B defense lest he end up a DH? Can we honestly credit Boston for helping anyone improve on the field?
  8. Tosar isn’t the hitting coach, so is it safe to assume Johnson will be? Major League Field Coordinator also sounds like a newly created position in the Sox org. Is this common elsewhere and I’ve just never heard of it? Makes me wonder if it has anything to do with implementing an org wide hitting philosophy but I’m totally guessing.
  9. Victims of assault don’t have to luxury to just move on from devastating life altering trauma. Trauma that never actually goes away. But this whole diatribe is asking us to dismiss allegations that have never really gone away because it’s inconvenient to continually reconcile with them. Men simply being horny really isn’t an excuse either.
  10. What exactly will we know? What ‘something is up’ will we know? What exactly are you saying? What bigotry are you actually trying to couch here?
  11. Yeah, you don’t know that. We have no evidence that Boston is even good at whatever his job responsibilities actually are on and off the field, but the impetus to defend him against sexual assault allegations is curious. What actually drives you to defend him?
  12. Can they get him to focus on baseball as well? If such hearsay is true of course.
  13. Sort of morphed into an add Bellinger discussion with some rebuild talk tossed in. The OP was so asinine it didn’t warrant actual attention ??.
  14. Yeah, joke’s on me for expecting anything different. So much for the rest of the old staff not being asked back.
  15. I don’t disagree, but the sort of trade proposed is what I think a competent GM should be doing under the payroll constraints sent down from on high. I don’t believe this team as is, or with anything Hahn could pull off is a real contender. I’ve watched too much White Sox baseball to bank on another 2005 magically happening.
  16. New manager doesn’t even have say over his staff. Same old same old.
  17. Dunn was also a 4 year commitment at significant dollars back then. Bellinger coming off a DFA wouldn’t be getting the same here.
