  1. Where does one find such info? I'm curious how many hours I "watched".
  2. One last petty ‘f*** you’ to the fanbase?
  3. Probably USD, as MLB is based in the US. But all we have is a supposed dollar number and no other terms.
  4. If Bellinger puts up another mediocre year the NYY media would eat him alive. Good luck with that.
  5. Despite his build, he's been very durable. His 156 games played in 2023 was the lowest in a full season since his rookie year, in which he didn't until late April. $340M is a lot to reject, but we don't know the years or AAV. Shouldn't be too hard to match or best those numbers on the open market.
  6. Astros losing both Bregman and Tucker would make me so happy.
  7. This angle, if true, makes me think the Mariners are the better landing spot. Ichiro is a Seattle icon and is still heavily involved with the team, giving him a cultural connection. He'd be joining a stellar rotation where he'd just be another piece and not have to deal with the pressures of being the face of the franchise. They are also much closer to being a contending team than the White Sox, and don't have the baggage of being the worst team in history.
  8. Oh goodie, a Cubs fan trying to get a rise out of Soxtalk. Sad. Hey Bleed Cubbie Blue, come get you boy...
  9. Hopefully he is what Madrigal was *supposed* to be. Never hurts to have a high BA/high OBP guy in the lineup.
  10. This makes me feel better. Didn't catch that Teel is LH. And maybe they finally found a legit RF too?
  11. Kind of how I'm feeling too. Better than previous Getz' returns, but I'm not blown away.
  12. Worst. Offense. Ever. Which is saying something after last season.
  13. I personally would keep Cease and the assets needed to acquire Crochet. Cease has far less injury risk, and longterm I'd feel better resigning him rather than extending Crochet.
  14. We have officially come full circle, and or have jumped the shark.
  15. Sounds familiar. Something about refusing to make adjustments or take coaching.
  16. In 2021, a season in which attendance was still impacted by Covid, White Sox drew 1.59M, above the AL average of 1.32M. In 2022, the Sox cracked 2M, above the AL average of 1.94M. The past two season have been a disaster, yes, and attendance reflected that. But to say the White Sox portion of the Chicago market cannot support the team is false.
  17. I could see the M's dealing Castillo's age 32-35 seasons for an offensive upgrade. I'm just not convinced that's Bellinger. I'd definitely want more in return.
  18. M's ownership is pretty cheap, absorbing Bellinger's money is probably a no go unless they find a taker for Haniger.
  19. Seriously. When even the cheap ass A's are handing out 20+M AAV deals for pitching, Jerry's assbackwardness looks even more behind the times. Just sell the damn team already FFS.
  20. Basketball allows for players to sub back in, baseball doesn't. There are also rules that govern when a player can sub in certain situations in those sports, and don't always allow you to put your best player in a big spot arbitrarily. Different sports don't have to follow the same rules, and this idiotic idea cheapens the uniqueness of baseball. I have zero problem with Ohtani or Soto or any other superstar pinch hitting in a big spot if they weren't already in the game, because that falls into the parameters of how game is played. But magically being able to skip multiple batters in a line up just to put your best hitter at the plate is a cheap gimmick that doesn't actually improve the game itself.
  21. The beauty of this in baseball is that it's random and unpredictable. You can game plan around it hoping to line up your best vs their best, but the stakes are impacted by variables that aren't predetermined. This rule would drastically alter fundamental aspects of baseball chasing a fabricated instant gratification. Walk-off wins are beautiful because any of your 1-9 could be the hero that night, and arbitrarily being able to jump the batting order to insert a star player cheapens those moments, and the game itself. We don't need to ruin baseball by turning it into football or basketball.
