  1. Sure, let's move the team to a place where driving is the only option, and watch JR charge through the nose for parking. You can kiss any casual fan interest/attendance goodbye in Orland/Tinley as well. The Tinley Park White Sox would be a bigger ghost town than Euro Disney...
  2. How many names can we float to cover for already giving the job to Grady?
  3. Upper lower lower. If you know, you know.
  4. Do you think there is an underground reservoir beneath the 78 that would somehow restrict excavation to build a playing field? Where on earth do you get the idea that anyone is hanging out below the river?
  5. Tatis blossomed after the trade and its questionable whether he would have developed the same here. Where as Vargas sucked before it and there was a large sample of him sucking. I would venture that targeting Vargas was much, much worse.
  6. Bingo. Look at all of the tall buildings built adjacent to the river, being in close proximity isn't an issue. Besides, the river south of Roosevelt is basically a man-made canal, reinforcing the foundation of a ballpark is child's play compared to rerouting a mile stretch of the river.
  7. If Juan Soto, Pete Alonso, Alex Bregman, Cody Bellinger, Corbin Burnes, Max Fried, and Blake Snell all magically appeared on the White Sox roster, I think we would all be happy, and happy not going through any sort of rebuild/retool. But magic is the only way this happens since the owner is anti player in just about every way. Refusing to understand that is a choice.
  8. Hahah, so the OTA signal isn't compatible with a number of television sets. Fan-fucking-tastic.
  9. If it were that easy to just win, no team would ever need to rebuild. Or ever have a down year. Too bad magical thinking doesn't actually lead anywhere.
  10. Oh I know. OTA isn’t an option for him, but he is spared the biggest hurdle any cord cutter deals with locally. Assuming the games will be accessible on mlb.tv of course.
  11. The effort required to make OTA work isn't the point. OTA being virtually the only option for most viewers in this day and age on day one is. The new network and its lack of availability has virtually zero impact on me and I still think they are fucking it up royally. It is a valid critique.
  12. Games only being available on MLB.tv but being blacked out locally would be so reisndorfian.
  13. An OTA option is a great idea if you are trying to make your product more accessible. Emphasis on option. OTA as virtually the only way to access your channel's content in the year of 2024? Yikes. It is a colossal fuckup.
  14. 17th out of 30 over a four year sample. In other words, completely meaningless.
  15. Even the mighty Mike Elias will need a scapegoat when his team gets bounced in the Wild Card again.
  16. Cruel and unusual punishment right there.

True, but neither KC or the Angels of 15 years ago were as toxic and archaic as the Sox are now.
  18. Yup. Which makes the Cease and Fedde trades look even more disastrous. Getz only has so many trade assets, and he fucked up two big ones already.
  19. Detroit had a better total WAR from 1B than the Sox did. Tork >> Vaughn, period. NYY isn't looking at Vaughn and thinking he's an upgrade from Rizzo. Houston just lived through Pito cratering so they definitely are looking for better production than a no bat no glove 1B. The list of teams that would look at Andrew Vaughn and think he's an upgrade is very very short.
  20. Accumulating all of that talent at once is the key. Some guys were traded for others, and some guys broke out elsewhere, etc. It's really a big picture indictment of how the Sox operate, and their failings as an organization.
  21. Tnetennba replied to SCCWS's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And Bobby Witt would have developed like Vaughn did too...

Don't hold your breath. As much as this org is obsessed with being the Royals, KC can actually draft and develop. If the Sox can go from 121 losses to *only* 106 losses in 2025 I'd consider that a small miracle.
  23. Did those precious prospects perform in this series? 😁 Honestly I’m just reveling in their downfall.
  24. How’s that prospect hugging going for you Orioles?
