  1. KW is ready to retire and lives in Arizona. As I was told over the winter, “I don’t know if his contract is up in 2023 or 2024 but I think he’s already checked out.”
  2. But...but...but “Accountability around here is not a problem.”- Kenny Williams 4/25/23 ?
  3. 0-9 RISP tonight. Just brutal.
  4. Under Hahn they couldn't even put together a winning year when they were trying to win BEFORE the rebuild.
  5. The team record by the way is 15 straight solo home runs. Did it twice.
  6. If that's true he's got more guts than I give him credit for. But I seriously doubt that was his intent.
  7. Exactly correct his ego and arrogance would never allow him to admit he flushed the rebuild right down the toilet.
  8. It's because the GM is incompetent with acquiring additional talent particularly at 2B and RF. Team has no depth ZERO anywhere to overcome injuries, that's also on this fool of a GM.
  9. Based on the record if the Sox don't have a sell-off at the deadline regardless of if said players want to leave or not, they are stupider than even I imagined. This team can't stay healthy for a week let along play well enough together to make a run in the worst division in baseball. If the front office can't look in the mirror and see the reality of this than the only reason for not making a sell off is their ego's and being unwilling to basically admit to the media and fan base that they screwed the rebuild up six ways to Sunday.
  10. "Be ready to go tomorrow..." LOL. Maybe make that 'be ready to go next weekend...'
  11. They need to be shipped out regardless if they want to go or not. The track record with these guys is basically failure.
  12. Sox will wait 3-4 days before putting TA back on the IL to go along with basically half of the club. LOL. They LOVE to play shorthanded. That batting order tonight is simply pathetic.
  13. His arrogance fits right in with this organization from ownership to the front office. But this isn't the first time a Sox manager went off on the fans questioning the lineup construction: ‘‘Turn off their TVs and stop watching the game if they don’t like the [bleep]ing lineup’’ --Ozzie Guillen to White Sox fans
  14. June 19, 1926 - The Sox celebrated Eddie Collins Day at Comiskey Park. Collins would be admitted into the Hall of Fame in 1939 and was one of the finest second baseman in Major League history. He played 12 seasons with the club and is the only member of the 3,000-hit club to get that safety in a Sox uniform. June 19, 1977 - Wilbur Wood threw one of his last good games for the White Sox as he beat the A’s 2-1 in the first game of a double header at Comiskey Park. Wood went eight innings allowing only a run. But the real star that afternoon was first baseman Lamar Johnson who did everything in this contest. Johnson’s three hits (and two home runs) were the only Sox hits in the game. He also sang the National Anthem beforehand! The Sox also won the nightcap 5-1. June 19, 2015 – In a game against the Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field, Chris Sale recorded his fifth consecutive game with at least 12 strikeouts as he fanned 14 Texas hitters. That tied him with Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson as the only pitchers in baseball history to accomplish that. Sale’s streak began on May 28 and in those five starts he struck out a total of 65 hitters. He got a no-decision in the game though as Texas scored two runs in the ninth inning with two out and picked up a 2-1 win.
  15. Second time in the last 10 days or so he's made a snarky comment when asked about his lineup construction.
  16. The highest paid bullpen in baseball! LOL.
  17. Was in touch with a member of the mainstream media tonight they said that on Monday, Grifol "He's gonna have a rough go. Talking and acting like a rookie." This person was also reacting to his comment to DVS of the Sun-Times. “I don’t have to answer those people [who don’t like the lineup]. He’s (Burger) in the lineup (hitting 8th), he’s going to get four at-bats, help us win. Other than that, they can talk to [chairman] Jerry [Reinsdorf].”
  18. This team is unlikeable, the manager is unlikeable, the front office is unlikeable and the owner is absolutely unlikeable.
  19. The Sox have scored three runs or less in 39 of the 73 games played this year. That's 53.4%
  20. Grifol to DVS of the Sun-Times on Anderson: "“Timmy’s going to take off here pretty soon. He’s feeling good, had some really good swings yesterday. He’s had some good work the last couple of days. He’s going to take off. He didn’t need a mental break. It’s a physical break, get some treatment and be ready to go tomorrow.” ?
  21. Hard to say who has sucked the worst during this "window of contention." Lopez is one of them but in fairness the way the Sox offense looked and the way they have performed they probably lose the game 2-1 anyway. Sox starting pitchers have no room for error with this embarrassingly bad offense and their lack of plate discipline/understanding.
  22. Only in the embarrassing world of the White Sox can their starting pitcher strike out 16 guys, but the offense is so terrible they lose the game.
  23. Second time recently he's gone off along these lines. Me thinks the pressure is starting to get to him.
  24. June 18, 2006 - Jon Garland became the first Sox pitcher to homer in a big-league game since 1971 (Steve Kealy) when he hit a two-run shot off the Reds Esteban Yan in the eighth inning of a game in Cincinnati. The Sox won easily 8-1. Garland scored two runs as well and picked up the win going eight innings allowing only four hits. June 18, 2019 – It was a huge moment and a big step forward for the rebuilding White Sox. In a one all tie at Wrigley Field against the Cubs; former top Cub prospect Eloy Jimenez blasted a two-run home run into the left field bleachers giving the Sox what turned out to be a 3-1 win. The shot came in the ninth inning and he did it while breaking his bat! Jimenez was acquired by the Sox along with top pitching prospect Dylan Cease for pitcher Jose Quintana on July 13, 2017. June 18, 2023 – A brilliant individual performance by Sox starting pitcher Lance Lynn was all for naught. Lynn, who had been badly struggling all season, found a comfort zone in Seattle and wound up striking out 16 Mariners, tying the franchise record on a Father’s Day Sunday afternoon. But the Sox offense was so embarrassingly bad, they only scored one run and Seattle wound up winning the game 5-1 tacking on additional runs off of Reynaldo Lopez when Lynn left in the eighth inning. He was charged with three runs in the game. The 16 strikeouts tied Jack Harshman for the team record. Harshman, a converted position player, struck on 16 Red Sox on July 25, 1954 at Fenway Park in a game the Sox won 5-2.
  25. You may have a point. Don't know how he'd react if Grifol pulled him for "baseball-stupidity."
