With only a 1.5 game division lead, can this offense really sustain another 2+ months without Eloy and Robert? Even if it’s trying Rutherford and/ or Sheets…something has to give sooner or later

Yaz has the same bat speed as my grandmother…0 chance against any decent pitcher. Starting to get real ugly with him, especially with his defense not being anything special either

I don’t see how “not enough evidence” is possible on that kind of play. Freeze frame- either the foot beats the ball in the glove or not. Looked pretty clear without slow motion or freeze frame

Don’t agree with the notion that you don’t “waste” a challenge in the 1st. 1-he was out 2-giving away outs in any inning can change the game.

It’s called a secondary lead. There’s no reason for any runner to be within 6 feet of 1st base as the pitch is released. This is little league 101 stuff.

He’s had like 3/4 bad plays with fly balls…has there been any other instance to really criticize Yoan on? He’s been pretty stellar on D otherwise and the bat has been good, even if there is still hope for improvement. I also think a lot of people like Stone don’t like to admit that a superior athlete like Yoan doesn’t have to all out hustle at all times like the less talented “scrappy” guys…the results are what should matter, not what an old curmudgeon (and I like Stone) perceives.

McEwing doesn’t have a red light...usually don’t have a problem, but definitely questionable in this situation with the top of the order up and Maeda being straight garbage

Absolutely no reason to throw a fastball in that situation. Cease didn’t spot the last like 5 fastballs and the curve has been nasty

Not about to look thru 23 pages so maybe he’s been mentioned...but what about Tyler Naquin from Cinci? He’s gotta come at a reasonable price, costs essentially nothing $ wise, is familiar with the division pitching, and can play CF adequately. He’s probably hitting above his head at the moment, but he has legit pop and would bring more to the team than Luery/Mendick
