Sure in a perfect world it would be electronic. But the fact is that that are indeed umps significantly better than others (at 90+% accurate) just standing in the field most of the time is crazy to me. The umpires that grade out better than others should be paid to be behind the plate as often as possible while they still keep plate umpires

Crazy mlb does nothing about this...this guy shouldn’t ever be allowed behind the plate again. Bending over and calling balls and strikes isn’t exactly hard work, I don’t understand why they just don’t leave the best guys of an umpire crew behind the plate. If after 150 AB’s he’s still late on 93 mph fastballs right down the middle like he was last night I’ll start questioning what’s wrong and call for someone else to get playing time
