  1. Man this team is hard to watch. They just can't string hits together to save their lives
  2. Mike Trout is the obvious answer....imagine how nice Fowler would look at the top of the lineup if the front office would have bucked up for him though. RF- Eaton CF- Fowler 1B- Abreu 3B- Frazier RF- Melky 2B- Lawrie DH- Avi/Morneau C- Navarro SS- Anderson
  3. We really need another late inning reliever badly. What little we have is going to break down by August because we rely on them so heavily. Poor bullpen depth + a bad offense is a bad mixture.
  4. Just comical at this point. This organization turns everything it touches to crap somehow. Full on rebuild. Burn it down and build it back up
  5. 1.Ray 2.Moniak 3.Senzel 4.Lewis 5.Puk 6.Pint 7.Rutherford 8.Dunn 9.Collins That's my big board for #10. Love Groome's potential but don't think we are taking him if he falls because he's going to want a ridiculous amount of $ to sign. Anyone outside of those 10 and I will be really disappointed. Please no easy to sign college pitcher with the ceiling of a #3 most of all though.
  6. Moniak Senzel Ray Rutherford Lewis Give me any 1 of those 5 at 10 and I'll be very happy. I kinda like the idea of Burdi from Louisville with the comp pick. Big fastball as a college reliever but has the secondary pitches to think he could develop as a starter...if not could contribute early as a reliever.
  7. What a play by Saladino. Need more of him in the field. Put Rollins at DH if for whatever reason Robin wants him in the lineup
  8. 1st ever intentional walk with the bases loaded? Only 1/2 kidding
  9. Going to be a long night for EJ if he doesn't spot the fastball. Not going to throw it by too many more guys at 92.
  10. Must get runs. Can't keep runs on the bases vs boston's offense
  11. Awesome...love seeing how excited and happy the players are too.
  12. Have to get at LEAST 1 there and our DH can't manage a fly ball more than 20 feet out of the infield. Avi is killing the lineup. Having an adequate DH to hit 5th with Melky 2nd would change the dynamic of the whole offense.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) Zero Bust in Boston We have a 3rd baseman...Panda can play no other position. If this isn't "hero worshiping", then what is it? God that phrase is so stupid and way overused on this site. How is trying to find a reasonably priced DH "hero worshiping"? If he hits like he did in 2014 he's still worth $6-8M/year on the open market easily, if not more. 1 bad year doesn't make the guy done forever. He does have an .848 OPS this spring and steamer has him projected at .281/.332/.441....it's no doubt a gamble, but if we could get him at below market value and implement a weight clause I don't see how it's such a crazy idea.
  14. Contract breakdown looks like this: '16- $17.6M '17-$17.6M '18- $18.6M '19- $18.6M '20- Option for $17M with $5M buyout So that's more or less $77M over 4 years. How much would Boston have to eat to get you to bite on Sandoval?
  15. Am I the only 1 that lost a little respect for Sale after that interview? Drama Queen much? I get that Laroche was his friend and he didn't want to see him go, but why make into all of this? Sale is the distraction, not getting a terrible player and his kid out. He might was well have called him St. Laroche the way he was talking about him. Sorry Chris, but your buddy gets paid a lot and he sucks. When that's the case you might want to listen to a reasonable suggestion from upper management. And as others have said, no one kicked out or fired Laroche, he quit.
  16. I find it hilarious that people think this was some executive decision by KW. Like he showed up to the ballpark one day and said " I'm tired seeing this kid's stupid face. He's gone, don't care if his dad goes with him." Like really? Obviously there were multiple people complaining. Most likely both players and coaches and I'm sure it was ongoing. Idk, seems like a pretty obvious conclusion to me... And again, what the hell are the players supposed to say to the media about this? "Thank god that little creep is gone, couldn't stand him. Or do you think a professional athlete would take the politically correct, not getting them in trouble, way out and say what a swell kid he was and they loved having him?
  17. Good get this idiot out of here. If I got paid $13M to do a job and utterly and embarrassingly failed I would be damn sure to work my ass off next opportunity. Leave your kid at home, shut your mouth, and get in the cage until you figure out how to hit again. All there is to it. And why would you want your kid there anyway? Any locker room setting I've ever been in was no place for a kid. Just because Laroche chooses to live his life a certain way doesn't mean everyone else does. I'm sure there were a lot of guys who felt uncomfortable knowing there was a 14 year old within ear shot at all times.
  18. The selfish jerk couldn't have decided to do this 3 months ago?? (kidding...sort of) Now is there any way he convinces Danks to do the same?
  19. Yeah at this point I see no other other reasonable option than just giving Austin Jackson something like 2/$14-16M and seeing what happens. If we are still in it at the all-star break the FO can then reevaluate and make their move on a trade. The trade will be a lot more clear at that point and teams will be more willing to deal. The 3 top 40 picks will really revitalize our system and possibly make someone more expendable in a trade. At this point we really can't afford to give up the few prospects we do have.
  20. There are $10M or so reasons that most are talking about replacing Avi and not Laroche. Laroche's contract is going to earn him another shot over Avi, like it or not. And while he has little to no value, other teams will take Avi and his contract. No one wants Laroche and his hefty salary.
