  1. Again, suitable replacement presents itself that allows the Sox to skip Danks and I'm all about it. But until I see that guy I'm not ready to just go with a random-ass 5th starter. I want to see Rodon pitch a couple more times just to make sure the walks aren't a problem.
  2. I dont want to get political, but the protestors probably have a point and its important people exercise that right even if it inconveniences us. If the game has to be called it has to be called, but they aren't the enemy for being out there. They're just, like, people and stuff.
  3. I'm not praising the guy. The White Sox aren't going to have a team of 13 Chris Sale's and 12 Jose Abreu's. A guy like Danks who gives the team a chance to win with a decent enough game has a role, I'm not enthusiastically awaiting his starts but I'm also not just burying the guy. It can get worse, people. It can get so much worse.
  4. Baseball endures through thick and thin, do not cancel an opportunity to show how relevant the game still is.
  5. Nobody can reliably know if Rodon will break down after a certain number of innings. I think Balta is a little biased because the Sox were burned badly by that very thing happening a few years ago. I'm a little more open-minded to the idea but I'd just like to see him start a couple games (the upcoming suspensions provide that opportunity) before we go selling Danks.
  6. We have nobody to replace him with. John Danks may not win you a game all by his lonesome, but he's been giving QS and with the new bullpen 3 ER in 6 IP is just fine thank you. If they want to get Rodon a couple starts, seeing how that goes, then shipping Danks I'm more receptive. Danks would do well for himself in the NL, not a world beater but a decent guy to have in the rotation. You dont just leap at the first buyer, see if a market can develop for a guy that wont cost much to get but could be decent.
  7. Ventura has done a very nice job managing the pen now that he has some good arms.
  8. Pretty hard to have bad breaks when Robertson barely ever lets the ball in play.
  9. It is probably impossible for a pitcher to finish with a -.85 FIP and a -.34 xFIP. I've seen the negative FIP a few times before, it can happen, but this is a first on the negative xFIP. What he did today is exceedingly difficult.
  10. If the score stays 5-3 Robertson will close. He's walking around the pen now.
  11. Gallardo would be damn near perfect but the Sox would have to give up something substantial because Texas is probably stashing him for a comp pick.
  12. Sun shining, beautiful April day for some baseball. A little cold, that's it
  13. Even the thread about something that happened 100 years ago draws the vaunted SoxTalk "Sigh".
  14. He wouldn't have signed if that was the arrangement.
  15. Climbing back into it. They've actually been pretty good since the horrendous start. Sale is a great way to set the tone for the upcoming Royals series.
  16. I say the same thing about Flowers. Its ridiculous to not be excited about our ballplayers playing well.
  17. I assume the Sox know I would happy paying like $2.75 for a ticket in the UD and they don't need to keep giving me decent OF seats.
  18. Yea the early going they've been much better about not walking people. Not really a valid complaint.
  19. Bullpen very fresh for game 2 because Jennings did such solid work tonight. Could be the difference in a Noesi game, just like great bullpen work kept the Sox within striking distance tonight.
  20. This would be an odd time to start squeezing a pitcher.
