  1. Or third base or maybe stay at short and trade Anderson for a legit right fielder who can hit and hit with power.
  2. That would be great but we just went 4-5 on a fairly easy homestand. At this point no worse than 4-3 on the road trip is a must.
  3. Bad moves today, starting Leury and bringing V.V. in to pitch the 9th. He's 4-2 as manager but I'm not sure if he's the guy we want at the helm after TLR retires.
  4. I wouldn't say the whole bunch but quite a few, this was a big chance today but instead we came up smelling like dog s%*#.
  5. We moved to Florida 29 years ago and have never looked back, best move we ever made.
  6. Me too, listened to it on the transistor radio, Ed Fitzgerald of the Senators was the culprit. Hey, we're neighbors, we pass through Placida when we go to the beach on Boca Grande.
  7. Brought back memories of Joel Horlen's 1967 no hitter in the September stretch drive, let's hope things don't end the same way as they did in 67.
  8. I would bet there are lot more Sox fans in Flordia than Cleveland fans and never met a Mariner fan in my 29 years living in the Sunshine State.
  9. They've been teasing us all season, let's hope this run is the real thing and continues to the end of the season, not saying win every game but if they win every series with maybe a sweep against the Tigers at home that should win the division.
  10. None of those numbers make we want to do hand springs.
  11. I'm sure not happy with what I've seen in our outfield this year, it's been a disaster. Besides that we have problems at catcher, 3B and 2B, this going to be a very interesting off- season.
  12. Get rid of Eloy, he's always hurt and useless. Hate to give up on Sheets and his lefty power bat, give him a crash course during the off season on playing left field, he'd probably be as good as Eloy, probably better.
  13. I went with Moncada, Leury is Luery but Moncada for what he is getting paid has been useless this year.
  14. Bill Veeck basically inherited the 1959 White Sox when Dorothy Rigney sold her 54% of the team to Barnum Bill, the team was built by Frank Lane and Chuck Comiskey with guys like Fox, Aparicio, Pierce, Wynn, Rivera, Shaw and Donovon already in place and managed by Al Lopez. They win the pennant and then Veeck decides to trade away future stars Johnny Callison, Norm Cash, John Romano, Don Mincher and Earl Battey for aging vets Roy Sievers, Gene Freese and Minnie Minoso, horrible trades even though it was great to see Minnie back in a Sox uniform and after a nice 1960 season he was fading fast and traded again in 1962.
  15. I just hope that the FO doesn't chalk up this season to bad luck with injuries and bring back a lot of the stiffs including the biggest stiff of them all, TLR.
