  1. If only he got to face the Barons pitching staff.
  2. Yeah, I just looked up Snell's numbers. That man has earned himself some serious $ and probably a trip to NYC to pitch for the Yankees or Mets.
  3. DSL wins game 2 19-1. Sweep DH by a combined 34-6. Reyes 3IP 2H 0R 0ER 1bb 5K. Mogollon 4-4, HR, 2b, 5 rbi. Flores 2-3, bb, currently hitting .417. They got 16 hits and 11 bb as a team.
  4. DSL Game 2 underway. Mogollon 2-2, HR. His scouting report was bat-first MI, and that seems to be true. He'll be an interesting follow when he gets stateside.
  5. That 2000 team was really fun until their entire rotation got hurt.
  6. DSL win game 1 15-5. They walked 9 times and were 7-15 w/RISP. Gonna win a lot of games doing that. Game 2 upcoming.
  7. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/31/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Light slate today. DSL doubleheader and an ACL game tonight.
  8. Ha ha, there's a rain delay in Biloxi with 2 outs in the 9th of a 14-1 game. Birmingham has to drive home after the game. Forfeit! Btw, they got swept in the 6 game series and their pitching was crushed every night. Sox farm does not have a lot of impact even after the trades.
  9. But doesn't he have immigration hoops to jump through, establish residency in the DR, apply to MLB to be eligible, etc? By the time all that stuff's done, won't he be in the next signing period?
  10. Birmingham currently getting smoked 14-1. Jackson Chourio bomb. It scares me that we're sending the best arms in the system -- Mena, Thompson, Kelley, and now Bush and Nastrini into a situation where no one seems to be able to throw strikes and no one is getting any better.
  11. Charlotte already lost and Birmingham is getting thumped, combined scores 22-2. Birmingham has given up a 10 run inning thanks to a lot of walks. There is no mound help on the farm.
  12. Kelley imploded again 0IP 1H 5R 5ER 4bb 1HBP. Pitching development is horrific all around, but the staff in AA is especially bad. Everyone takes a major step back when they get there.
  13. Would be fine. Freeze control. It's not like they're going to be good for the next two years anyway.
  14. What's the harm in trying? We might derail the progress of a middle reliever with 3 years of control?
  15. W-S stormed back with a 6 run 9th to win 7-2. Kanny held on 2-1. Winner for the Ballers was Ben Beutel a soft-tossing lefty sidearmer. I want to live in a world where pitchers with non-96 mph fastballs with perfect spin rates can also succeed because I like weird, but I fear that world is not this world.
  16. Navarro, Peralta, Cronin, which one had you heard of?
  17. Nice to see Andrus starting the game for what could be his last appearance in a Sox uni. I wonder if they'll give him a motorcycle or something.
  18. .900 OPS. Straw has never dreamed of that. Mirage or break out? McCormick has over 200 ab. I wish we could teach people to hit like that.
  19. I have always wanted them to try. Fact is, he can't stand up to the reliever workload. Maybe piggyback starter with someone like Scholtens once every 5 days would allow him to pitch 80-100 innings. That would be valuable to a team that currently has 2.5 starters.
  20. Maybe Tampa should make a move. Houston got Alvarez and Altuve back and said, "Hi, remember us?" They're leading 16-2. HR Abreu (10), Yordan 3-5. Chas (bleepin') McCormick has a .900 OPS. Weird fact: McCormick and Jake Meyers their 2 centerfielders, each hit right, throw left. Can never remember a team with two of those types. Anyway, Houston still a formidable team for anyone trying to win the AL.
  21. Allen is really small. Classic crafty lefty.
  22. HR Sosa (after 3 Ks)
  23. 4IP 3H 0R 0ER 0bb 3K. 50 pitches, 34 strikes.
