  1. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:46 AM) ??? I only see 27 pages, although my settings might be different. This thread has 176
  2. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:51 AM) Unfair to compare this to an open market contract for Cespedes/et al. 5/$50 seems great, but don't forget he was still an arb guy before this deal, so it isn't as much of a discount as it seems once you factor that in. MLBTR put his arb projection at $5.9 for 2016. Assuming raises to $9 and $12 in 2017 and 2018 (total stabs in the dark, I admit), that would make this more like a $2/23 extension. Which is still nice. Could just say it buys out 2 years of free agency or whatever.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:28 AM) Jesus can something just happen? The Sox landing a big OF bat makes them a legit contender. Let's do this. 176 pages of Cespedes talk
  4. QUOTE (Saufley @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) So Rotoworld is now reporting that the Braves have some interest. Mets still not wanting to go over 2-3 years. When are the Sox going to swoop in and sign Cespedes to the 4 year deal. I thought the Braves were rebuilding and why would they have interest? Put some fans in the seats and trade him in a year or two without giving up a draft pick now.
  5. QUOTE (ypres @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) That shouldn't be hard. Thought the same thing when I saw his post earlier but didn't feel like posting haha
  6. Yeah I actually think Kasper is pretty good overall (except his voice).
  7. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 10:57 AM) The Mets did free up some money when Cuddyer retired. I wouldn't rule them out. That's a good point.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) The 3 home games he's doing are the Cubs games. He actually has a harder travel schedule for home games rather than away games. Pretty sure he has to commute to and from Indiana for every game. I remember someone on here saying it's 2-3 hours each way. Actually it's the home opener and the 2 Cubs home games.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) If the Cubs end up trading Soler to Tampa for pitching, you have to think Fowler going back to the Cubs comes into play big time. I could see them bringing back Jackson to play center and hit low in the order since he's cheaper and still a good defender. I'm still sticking to my guns that Heyward will be in RF opening day.
  10. Does Swirsky still call Bulls game? I doubt it'll be him if that's the case.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) raBBit on twitter just now says Fowler has moved into most likely, with Cespedes and Upton now being more difficult possibilities. Seems to really dismiss Upton now. I wonder is that is just his opinion or confirmed from his inside source.
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) Again, who are the teams that are going to jump in? I see a lot of posters claiming more teams will jump in, but few are offering suggestions about which teams actually would. I think it's an overblown fear. Toronto and St. Louis are the only ones I can think of. I still think we end up with Cespedes or Upton though.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 12:46 PM) Marlins might only have to pay Chen 20 million for 2 years....great deal Yeah and may be able to turn him into a draft pick if he opts out.
  14. Imagine if they traded for one of the cheaper ones (Blackmon or Dickerson) and then signed Davis. Wow.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) Even if Bassitt makes your rotation, he is a guy you are instantly looking to replace. It is like Conor at 3B. Yeah he was a "starter" but we all know he is a bottom tier guy. Exactly. And as I mentioned in another thread (maybe this one can't remember) Oakland added enough depth this offseason to the point where he likely isn't starting for them.
  16. I wouldn't mind him on a minor league deal for depth either I guess.
  17. With all the pitching depth Oakland added this off-season, I doubt they look at Bassitt as a major contributor this season.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) You have to put the Dodgers as #1. Damn. Yep. Fully expect him to be a Dodger, maybe a Cub.
  19. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Does this mean we won't be seeing an Avi Garcia trade? I heard that Everett will be giving a biblical lecture about dinosaurs. Not necessarily. He's on the roster as of now so why wouldn't he be going?
  20. This thread will get to 175 pages by the time Cespedes or Upton signs with anyone. Almost debating putting Desmond and Davis into this list as well.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) This would be the worst news of all. I kinda think if they decide to sign Raburn, he'd be part of a platoon in LF possibly taking them out of Cespedes.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) Hated that channel. Any radio station that features Kaplan and Haugh as their superstars is garbage in my book Never really caught the morning show (they were on from 9-12 I believe) but I loved the afternoon guys.
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) Iirc he won the Score contest to be an on air talent. He also jumped to the Game which was an unfortunate decision I LOVED The Game. Was so sad when it went off the air.
  24. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) Connor McKnight will be the host of Pre and Post and White Sox weekly on WLS for the White Sox. I like the hire. Connor is young and really knows baseball. He's very interactive with the fans and should be a welcome addition. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/01/11/robs...n-deck-for-wls/ Anyone > Chris Rongey
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 07:26 AM) On the other hand, it's too early to say anyone has really been hurt until they actually sign. It just takes one team to crack...for the rest of the dominoes to quickly fall. Yeah I didn't mean to say that. Meant that being the reason they're still unsigned.
