  1. I can't see the Sox spending that much for their backup.
  2. Yan Gomes to Cubs. 2 years $13 mill. Feel like he’s their starter with a Contreras trade (eventually).
  3. Is something close on the Kimbrel trade front that makes you think otherwise? Segura or McNeil perhaps? Edit: just saw your response.
  4. I can already hear Hahn's comments about how they didn't feel they needed to spend a lot since they already have a great core in place and just needed complimentary pieces (after signing Joc, Villar/Iglesias/Hernandez for 2B, the return of Leury, and lesser reliever).
  5. I made a mistake. The article said “expected” so not quite confirmed yet. I was also thinking it would be in the $25-30 mill range.
  6. 7 years $140 mill confirmed. Could have been a lot worse. I expected about $25 mill a year. edit: nevermind, it says expected to be for so not confirmed yet. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/11/tigers-sign-javier-baez.html
  7. The good news is we can still sign Conforto. I feel like there should be enough interest to where he signs for over 4 years though.
  8. He will be significantly cheaper than Seager so I think he has a good chance to return to the Dodgers.
  9. Yeah he definitely upgrades their team but I’d prefer the Tigers sign him than Correa.
  10. Oh, that was in reply to the comment about Yankees fans being upset they didn't sign a SS (there's still 3 out there).
  11. This is where I'm at too. If you sign him for one year, you have the same hole to figure out a year from now. Resolve it for multiple years.
  12. I thought the same thing.
  13. Correa, Baez, and Story are still out there.
  14. Honestly, I already stopped watching the postseason if the Sox aren’t in it. A little bit here and there but I just don’t care to invest almost 4 hours in a game my team isn’t in. When I was younger I watched most games.
  15. You're funny. I'll give you that.
  16. Hold on to the better players instead lol no reason to weaken the team for the sake of making moves.
  17. Yeah it was just more believed that deals had to be made today to give time to finalize them before lockout.
  18. What? You want them just to sign guys for the sake of signing them? And trading better players from our roster?
  19. He didn't even look good at 1B, his natural position.
  20. I would do 12 tops, and that's only if the league expanded to 32 teams.
  21. Exactly. Nothing wrong with letting him get every day at bats at Charlotte to be ready for an inevitable injury.
  22. Sell high on Sheets (not that I think he has a lot of value to begin with).
  23. Not enough at bats? He would be your starter in RF lol
