  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:19 PM) Hope he signs and then Turner goes elsewhere. Dodgers come running to us for Robertson/Frazier I still think they trade for Dozier and sign Turner. Infield complete.
  2. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) Reed is falling in value; I know a lot of people here like him,but his cup of coffee really wasn't good. I might go for more volume here, assuming no Bregman. Astros have a lot of really good, but not elite, prospects, particularly position players. You must hate Giolito and Moncada then.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:23 PM) Double check that. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) I thought they were at 38 earlier and this move would put them at 39? Maybe I misread. I mis-read his first comment.
  4. QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:21 PM) Q is next. Have a feeling we'll get a headline position player for him, along with pitching. My theory is that you can never trade a TOR guy without acquiring some form of pitching talent back. Or a smaller deal like Robertson.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) Eaton subtracted. Giolito and Reynoso added. I believe the Sox are at 39 and can pick somebody tomorrow. That would make it 40.
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) Huh? If they really want they have massive chips left in Q and Rodon to trade for position players. This is what a rebuild looks like you get the most value you can, regardless of position, and sort it out later. Yeah you can always move prospect arms for prospect bats to a team rich in hitting prospects.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) If they're not moving Bregman, I propose Q/Frazier for K. Tucker, P. Tucker, Martes, Fisher, Musgrove. Something like that. Where is Frazier going to play, 1B?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) More. And the door to the Rockies is seemingly closed with their signing Fowler and Desmond. They signed Fowler and Desmond?
  9. We also move up a draft slot with this signing.
  10. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Current options include: - Trade for a young catcher - Chris Ianetta - Ryan Hanigan (bad defense) -Kurt Suzuki - Al Avila - Welington Castillo (likely going to get overpaid and has several teams interested) - Matt Wieters (would make no sense for us) I agree. Sign him to a one year deal or one year with an option and see if he can rebuild value.
  11. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) Hes going to have to be moved eventually. Hes a boras client and will walk when his 5 yrs are up. Better to get some out of him then let him walk for nothing. Would be surprised if he goes this soon but probably eventually. Wait for him to develop more.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) Rockies signed Desmond. Per Rosenthal Wow what position is he expected to play?
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:49 AM) Please pass on this one Mr. Hahn. It's going to be ugly enough at Guaranteed Rate Field next summer. Don't make me watch Derek Holland pitch. I'm ok with it. As of now: Quintana Rodon Gonzalez Shields Holland would be whatever. Fulmer should start the year in Charlotte.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:17 AM) Have to think the Angels are interested in Lawrie for 2B as well. Cliff Pennington is at the top of their depth chart. I hope so. My gut tells me he will be our starting 3B next year though.
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:12 AM) TR Sullivan ‏@Sullivan_Ranger 3m3 minutes ago Derek Holland's suitors are still the Pirates and the White Sox I feel like if it was down to those 2, he would pick the Pirates. Seems like it would be easier to rebuild value in the NL.
  16. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) Would anyone do Q for Clint Frazier & Torres? Yesterday morning, I would have said that I think that that offer is too light but now I don't know what to expect lol
  17. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:59 AM) The lead story and picture on Rockies' blog The Purple Row features Frazier. What exactly does that mean? We already know they are interested in him.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:41 AM) Good grief. Hahn must be staying near electrical outlets to keep his cell phone charged up, or he has extra batteries. Gonna be a fun day Sox fans. Especially if it is true that both Chapman and Jansen could be close to making decisions.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:35 AM) I'm surprised Sox could not get Swihart included, partly because Bosox don't really need him, and we do. I wonder if the Sox had the option to take on the rest of Moncada's signing bonus along with taking on another player. My gut says probably not though.
  20. QUOTE (ChicagoHeel @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) Scott Griffin ‏@griffsz 8m8 minutes ago Alabama, USA .@BhamBarons GM Jonathan Nelson at baseball winter meetings: Rumblings of Todd Frazier being dealt @whitesox not done yet @991TheGame There goes my productivity at work lol
  21. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 06:13 AM) Let's continue talks with Rizzo/Nationals regarding Quintana. Package of Robles, Giolito starting point again. Quintana and Robertson. They've now lost out on Melancon and Davis and probably won't pay the price for Chapman or Jansen.
  22. Probably a good scenario if Davis goes to Cubs since we haven't seen them connected to Robertson.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) Great, do that anyway. Agreed.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) Eh, the problem with Ramos is that someone still has to catch for the first 1/2 of the season, so we still need a catcher somewhere else to go along with Narvaez. Ryan Hanigan on minor league deal. Or any other backup type.
  25. Ramos got $12.5 mill over 2 years with potential to make up to $18.5. I would have offered a bit more guaranteed money to get him in.
