  1. Marlins looking for pitching. Didn't the Sox and Marlins talk about Danks last July?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) Which is the risk for any of these long deal. Take the Royals deal with Ventura. On paper it is steal. If he blows out his elbow tomorrow, the Royals are out of luck. $23 mill over 5 years? It would be unlucky for it to happen but it wouldn't hurt them financially
  3. At the time we signed him to the extension, I didn't think he'd be worth it. I was calling to deal him away for whatever (maybe one top prospect then, but I think KW wanted 3) and re-sign Buehrle.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 12:21 PM) Yes. Barring rain- KC- Samardzija, Quintana, Danks Min- Noesi, Samardzija, Sale Cle- Quintana, Danks Det- Sale, Samardzija, Quintana Fixed it to what I think they should/maybe will do
  5. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) It does work but are the Sox going to have all three lefties follow one another in the rotation? Does it matter if they face 3 separate teams? First game would be against Manny, 2 in a row in Cleveland, and then Sale in Detroit. Doesn't seem like its that big of a deal. It's not like you're throwing 4 lefties in a 4 game series.
  6. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) Im kinda of thinking Sale 11th and Shark 12th. 4/6 Shark 4/8 Q 4/9 Danks 4/10 Noesi 4/11 Sale 4/12 Shark Starting Sale on the 11 would be a rotation of Sale, Shark, Q, Danks and Noesi which makes sense. The way I explained it works out too. Shark sat, Sale Sun, Q and Danks in Cleveland, then 3-headed monster in Detroit.
  7. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) So much for splitting up the lefties and righties. Samardzija should start on the 11th and Sale on the 12th, then? Not really true. With a 2 games series and 2 days off the second week, they can go Sale Shark and Quintana in Detroit the second weekend series.
  8. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) MLB trade rumors has SP - Miguel Gonzalez being outrightes ..... now i think he is avail to anyone. i know i am trying to be very simple here. i screwed up yesterday and i am trying to be correct in what i am reading. btw, i think he would be a real nice addition if this is true. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/phil...ppe-aumont.html He wasn't dfa'd I believe. He was just knocked off of the 40 man
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) With all the secrecy around some guys, I wonder what deals the team is trying to make before the roster moves all come down. Probably whoever we want off the 40 for cash considerations.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 11:32 AM) Cuts are happening right now, with Beck among them. who else?
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 05:09 PM) Wilkins is quite a bit closer to a big league player than Black, IMO. I don't think he said otherwise.
  12. They have Andy LaRoche for the roll too
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) I still wouldn't mind if sox came out and gave to Sanchez. I would appreciate having strong D up the middle when we have horrendous D on the corners. With Micah's stats declining a bit, I'm kind of leaning this way too. And he's already on the 40.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Putnam and Duke, depending on matchups. Who would make the roster assuming we go with 4 starters and 8 relievers (Sale and Petricka on dl to start year for few games)? Robertson Putnam Duke Guerra Jennings Albers Drabek and one more
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) Jacob Petricka still feels sore. Knows it's clean. Irritated because he just has to let arm rest. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/582250436998004736 Petricka still dealing with moderate soreness. Not looking likely for Opening Day, which is 8 days away. https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/582250562755956736 Robin Ventura says Micah Johnson has "done well enough to be the leading guy" for second-base job. But he's not naming him starter yet. https://twitter.com/ChiTribKane/status/582250943837646848 So basically he's the starter
  16. So basically it was Drabek for Wilkins
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) Doug Padilla ‏@ESPNChiSox 18m18 minutes ago Expect W Sox to follow same plan y'all. RT @MikeDiGiovanna: #Angels will open season with four starters and 12 pitchers. Interesting. Makes sense. I've already explained it lol it will only be for like 6 games
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) Can we stop talking about Rodon making the club? Not happening. Agree
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 12:47 AM) What does this even mean? Surkamp isn't making the team because he's not one of the best seven relievers. I think they break with 8 with Sale coming off dl April 12. Don't think it makes sense not to start him on dl like this considering he would only miss his opening day start and his roster spot isn't needed til he starts.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 28, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) We don't need three lefties in the bullpen, sorry. Not saying long-term. He'd just get sent down prior to Sundays game when Sale comes off dl since all signs point to him starting on dl (retroactive to about now). They'd go from 4 starters 8 relievers to 5 starters 7 relievers
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 28, 2015 -> 01:46 PM) We're getting close. 5 days until they leave Arizona. Pretty safe to say we know the lineup: Eaton, Cabrera, Abreu, LaRoche, Garcia, Ramirez, Gillaspie, Flowers, Johnson Bench: Bonifacio, Beckham, Shuck, Soto Rotation: Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, Noesi Bullpen: Albers, Surkamp, Guerra, Jennings, Putnam, Petricka, Duke, Robertson DL: Sale, Crain Still to be cut: Asencio, Beck, Carroll, Drabek, E Johnson, Leon, Penny, Rodon, Cleto, Kottaras, Sanchez, Beltre With Johnson, Soto, and Albers being added to the 40-man, I would guess Drabek is a good bet to be outrighted or traded, and if I had to guess a third...maybe Wilkins? My changes are bolded. I would like for them to have a third lefty in the pen (even if it is only for 5 games) so you can play matchups more in the first series with the Royals.
  22. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Mar 28, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) Matt Lindstrom was released by the Angels today. I would welcome him back with both arms. If he's healthy I hope the White Sox sign him. On a minor league deal, why not?
  23. My family has been parking on the street in front of Schaller's pump for a long time now. We've never received a parking ticket. It's with I a Mike's walk.
  24. Not too much of a problem. If one them are pitching and you are debating on going, go
  25. The hate from the posters fuels him
