  1. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the NFL fold at some point in our lifetimes. Between the increasing injury risks, the lack of competency within the officiating group, concussions, the poorer quality of play within the last few years, etc, the NFL is not in good shape IMO.
  2. This game proves exactly why I like baseball so much more than football. Are all baseball players class acts? No. But the amount of scumbags/morons/douches in football relative to baseball is astronomical.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 11:03 PM) I dont I've had bears season tickets for 30 years and have never seen fans throw things at a player going off injured. This. I know some football fans are barbarians, but I doubt most of them would go to the extreme level that the Bengals fans did tonight.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 11:00 PM) They reacted same way every fan base would. By throwing things on the field?
  5. Cincinnati's fanbase is complete trash. Shame on them.
  6. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 9, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Who posted it just wondering It was actually in a DM from a user on there. Like I said, that's probably not the reason why nothing is happening, but it's an interesting point that I hadn't thought about before.
  7. I saw a post on Twitter that was interesting and could possibly be true. It said something along the lines of that the Sox are waiting until SoxFest to announce an acquisition to try to garner more interest in the event itself. I don't know if it's true or not, but it does seem like the Sox usually announce something big at that time.
  8. I want absolutely nothing to do with Fowler. Hell, I'd prefer Austin Jackson over him.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) Who plays LF for the Jays now? This doesn't make them players in the Cespedes/Upton talks? They have Pompey and Saunders...I doubt they'll be looking for one of the top tier guys. If anything, they'll go after a guy like Jackson.
  10. Everything is falling into place. Now we need Davis to go back to Baltimore and St. Louis to trade for CarGo.
  11. Cross Washington off the list...
  12. I can't take anyone with the name 'Incarcerated Bob' seriously. Sorry.
  13. Realistically, what teams are still in the market for Cespedes? I think the Giants and Angels are out now, so that leaves us with the: White Sox Orioles Nationals Cardinals Tigers Are there any other teams I missed? I like our chances.
  14. @Alden_Gonzalez Angels still looking for LF and believe they'll get one. But at this point, they either trade for one, or he makes less than $5M in 2016. Sounds like they're out on Cespedes too.
  15. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) LMAO why would Hahn say this? My God please have them sign someone soon! He most likely didn't. I don't know, I'm just curious as to how he knows for sure that they're not posturing. It doesn't make any sense at this point to know that they were "fibbing" the whole time.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) The three year thing is still really frustrating (since we now know it is not posturing), as is (to me) our interest in Gonzalez. How do you know this? Did Hahn say this and I just missed it?
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) I think Ofman might have been fed something to pressure Cespedes. Although Uptons market is very limited. Between Upton and Cespedes, which guy do you think is more likely to sign with the Sox?
  18. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) Word is the Sox might go to four years on either Cespedes or Upton. The latter is intrigued with the south side. https://mobile.twitter.com/georgeofman/stat...563284490207232 I have a feeling that something will happen soon.
  19. I feel like the Sox need to get Cespedes before Upton signs, because otherwise all the teams that missed out on Upton will get into the Cespedes sweepstakes.
  20. I have a feeling that something will happen soon.
  21. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 06:32 PM) So let's narrow it down: CWS, BAL. DET sitting back along with LAA. I still like our chances. Baltimore is bringing back Davis. I think LA gets Upton. To me it's down to CWS and DET and this is why they're being patient. I gotta give you credit, I really admire your optimism. I really hope the Sox get something done because I think the acquisition of Cespedes would rejuvenate the fanbase a bit.
  22. It would be so nice if Davis went back to Baltimore.
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 7, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) Anyway you want to look at this, this is HUGE news for he Sox. Baltimore, Tigers, Angels, Nationals and Sox left for these big OFers imo. I honestly think it's down to the O's, Nationals, and Sox. I just can't see the Angels or Tigers signing one of the big OFers with their luxury tax concerns. I guess it's possible that they could, but it seems unlikely.
  24. My reaction when I saw this signing:
  25. Good. We can take them off the list in the Cespedes sweepstakes.
