  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) Yes. I bet any money he is the shortstop next season. Anything less than 1 year 9 mill makes this worth it since we would save money. I'm going to guess 1/6 (7 mill including the buyout). Anything less than $10 million for Alexei is a good deal for the Sox IMO. He gets a lot of crap from people on here, but he's still one of the better overall shortstops in the American League.
  2. Who is going to play shortstop now? Could Alexei still return on a cheaper contract?
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) Our infield should be Abreu/Sanchez/Ramirez/FA or trade with Saladino as our utility guy. No Beckham. Yep. Saladino is a better hitter than Beckham and his defense is almost as good. Plus he makes the minimum.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) The Cubs will likely get one of those pitchers (top five free agent pitchers). Less likely, they might trade one of their good young players (Javier Baez?) in a package for a top starting pitcher. It will be interesting to see if the Chicago White Sox even consider trading Chris Sale, or if the Oakland A's will listen to offers for Sonny Gray. Tim Kurkjian, espn.com I would seriously cry if Baez would be the main prospect going back to the Sox in a Sale or Quintana trade. He has power, but he's essentially Dayan Viciedo 2.0 that plays the infield.
  5. D'Angelo Russell has been confirmed to be dating Kendall Jenner. In other words, his career is over before it even started.
  6. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 02:53 PM) Only ones I'd even think about bringing back are Soto as a back up and Albers. Mark This. Beckham serves no purpose on this team and we all know that Guppy is a goner.
  7. I'd prefer Desmond over Wieters if that means anything.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) Last time he trusted the internet, he was told she was a 18 year old french model. It didnt end well
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 10:21 AM) Honestly, Putnam and Jennings can go. At least Avi has more potential. I'd keep Putnam. He's pretty solid.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) I swear I would be so into this Bulls team if it was minus Rose. I am not a hater I promise but I just don't like his game, his attitude, his personality or his narcissistic focus. And I just can't get the idea out of my head that he let his buddies bang his girlfriend along with himself at the same time for fun...and he thought that was no big deal nothing to be ashamed of. Whatever dude. I'd tend to agree with you too. He's an overpaid, narcissistic, under achieving tool (for a lack of a better word) that only cares about himself.
  11. I wish we could see more of Bobby Portis, at least in the 2nd quarter/garbage time if nothing else. I don't know if he'll ever become anything special, but it'd be nice to see what he can do.
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) 3-pointers: Mirotic 4/8 Butler 3/3 Snell 2/4 McDermott 2/4 Brooks 2/6 Moore 1/2 Rose 0/1 ------------- Team 14/28, 50% Rose should be fined a million dollars for every missed 3-pointer that he attempts throughout the season. The dude can't shoot from downtown worth a damn and he's hurting the team by chucking up those shots each and every game.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) European Kobe I like him a lot more than Porzingis honestly. Kristaps might have been a good Euro player, but he REALLY needs to bulk up if he wants to play with the big boys. He's essentially a taller version of Chris Sale haha.
  14. I really like Mario Hezonja on the Magic. I think he'll be a star.
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) There are plenty of oft-injured or busted pitchers with a nice a pedigree that have bounced back and contributed good value to a team. Just because your most recent comparable didn't set the world on fire doesn't mean the one next one will suck too. I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can with him as well, but it's kind of naive to think that Coop will magically "fix" him and he'll live up to the potential that he once had. It could happen, but it's unlikely.
  16. How is this guy any different than Kyle Drabek? We all know how that worked out...
  17. Am I crazy, or would you guys be ok with the Sox trading Danks/LaRoche for ARod? I don't like ARod in the slightest, but he's still a better hitter than LaRoche.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 28, 2015 -> 11:17 AM) I think they need to get guys close to major league ready or young guys already in majors. Trading Q for prospects doesn't really make sense. Agreed. If they trade him strictly for prospects, then they might as well trade every player of value and rebuild from scratch.
  19. The Sox shouldn't trade Q unless they get at least 2 of a team's top 10 prospects as well as a lower ranked one with a lot of potential.
  20. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) Would love to make him a reliever, and hopefully that is the plan. He had a great fastball and curve, which is all you need to be a reliever. Maybe he could be our Wade Davis, a former top prospect who stunk as a starter and found his groove in the pen. This. This right here. There's no reason why he can't be an elite reliever unless his arm is totally shot to hell.
  21. Even if the Sox don't get an impact hitter, they HAVE to improve the defense. Just an average defense would've given the team an extra 4-5 wins minimum last year.
  22. What a day. I turned 7 the day after they won it all, on the 27th. Needless to say, that was one of the best birthday presents EVER.
  23. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Oct 25, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) I've said for over a year now that I think Soler will wind up being the best of the Cubs prospects in the long run, if RH can pry him from the Cubs then do it. He's owed about 20 mil over the next 5 years, that's very team friendly. What makes you think that he'll be better than Bryant, Schwarber, Russell, etc? If anything, he seems like he'll be the worst of them all. He reminds me of Viciedo/Avi Garcia. They all have lots of raw power but no plate discipline and not willing to change their approaches to improve.
