Bauer really is the optimal solution. He’s the best starting pitcher on the board and the Sox wouldn’t have to trade away any prospects to get him. Do it, Jerry.

It’s only a matter of time before he gets caught.True, but if the Sox are going to pay Lynn and Gallo plus take on Andrus’ albatross contract, they might as well just use that money on Bauer.Lynn and Gallo aren’t good enough or controlled for long enough for me to take on an expensive contract for a bum like Andrus.I think Blackmon is intriguing to people because taking on his contract would likely mean that the Sox wouldn’t have to give up as much to get Marquez. That’s my take on it at least.Then he can go start for the Pirates or Orioles.I didn’t realize how good Joe Musgrove is. It just sucks that he only has 2 more years of team control, though I guess the Sox could try to get him to sign an extension if they traded for him.
