Eloy...yet again...
Eloy is a tall man with a large frame, at least by mlb standards. DHing doesn't help him to stay warm between at bats so he has to get on a stationary bike and stretch his hamstrings out in the clubhouse between at-bats. He also has to watch his weight and avoid doing things that have caused issues with his legs, like stretching on his last step to 1B to beat a throw. You can banter on about him being "injury prone" and that therefore, he should be traded, but you won't soon replace his value to the team and the excitement he brings to Sox fans with every at-bat. I hope he returns in time for the crosstown series. He seems to like hitting cub pitching very much.

You only go to one game a year so Hahn doesn't care what you think.

Sox are not going to trade Eloy, Vaughn Robert or Cease. So sorry.

Atlanta (and other teams) have the scouting report on AV. Unfortunately it does not look like he is adjusting his approach.

Yea get rid of Eloy...one of the most talented hitters on the team. WTF kind of stupid is that?

Let's go Sox. Another win at Atlanta would be unexpected but I would love to see it. Need a few home runs with men on and a great start by Cease.

Sox v Braves @ 6:20 GAME THREAD
If they are hitting into 4 double plays, maybe try elevating the ball, bunting, or try to coax a few walks.

After tough first half, Anderson confident he can turn season around!
I appreciate the man's humility at a tough time for him. Let's give him a chance to return to form. He was a great player, never forget that.

Giolito's wife files for divorce
Try to mind your own business folks. Meanwhile, I hope Gio and Cease return to the Sox as our 1 and 2 pitchers with the big contracts they deserve. They are both going to good for several more years.

Fire Rick Hahn
Grifol should go after the All Star break. Once the season ends JR should probably make larger changes to the baseball side of management, starting with Hahn. Right now Rick looks like a deer caught in the headlights. I actually feel sorry for him because a lot of the close losses this season have been a result of bad luck, bad moves, and bad decisions by Grifol and Katz plus unexpected under-performance by a lot of players. And then there is this: Hindsight is always 20/20. We call that Monday morni ng quarterbacking in the football world.

Fire Rick Hahn
Ricketts has owned the Cubs since 2009, and aside from a lucky win in game 7, the cubs would still be without a WS for over 100 years. Why did Ricketts let the architect of that team leave and let almost all the key players go ? Loyalty is a trait that escapes Joe Rickets and his clan. Maybe JR practices it to a fault, but I'd rather see that than the alternative.

Fire Rick Hahn
That is a non sequitur. I know about the JR quote about ideally coming in second place year after year, but I am sure he was referring to remaining competitive year after year rather than never ever winning it. If you don't think Jerry wants to win, just replay the 2005 parade videos including JR's reaction when Konerko handed him the ball from the final out.

Bad Karma and that comment should be beneath your level of dignity. This is just sports....a baseball team. Death is something that will visit all of us and our loved ones. Any one of us could get sick or get in an accident. You just don't know. You don't know who or how the ownership will look after JR passes away and whether that will guarantee a World Series. It's ridiculous to even go there. In the final analysis JR has NOT been responsible for trading Fernando Tatis, Jr. to get James Shields, trading away Marcus Semien for Samardzia, trading away Frankie Montas, or the questionable to very foolish Draft picks including Madrigal, Vaughn, Carson Fulmer or Courtney Hawkins. Hahn has tried re-building a few times before. It is time for him to go. No more excuses from him. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/03/rick-hahn-white-sox-gm.html It is also time for Grifol to go. The WSox should not be hiring a Manager in training. Ozzie is the logical replacement, but I doubt he will be offered the job and at this point, even if he was, I doubt he wants to go down as captain of a sinking ship.

Bullpen management
There is no way that Sox relievers should be walking lead-off hitter when the Sox are up one or two runs in late innings, especially when a home run hitter like Vladdy is in the batter's circle. There is also no way they should throw a fast ball to a home run hitter like Vlad who represents the tying or winning run after walking Belt. Bummer has done this a number of time this season as well. Recall that moment from the 1986 Game 6 of the 1986 National League Championship Series in Houston, bottom of the 16th inning, Mets up by a run and trying to clinch the pennant. Jesse Orosco is pitching to Kevin Bass with the tying and winning runs on base, and he is gassed. He has nothing on his heater, but is still throwing it. Keith Hernandez walks to the mound. “If you throw another fastball,” Hernandez said (he confirmed the exact words on Tuesday), “We’re gonna fight.” I think he actually said he would kick his ass. Grifol lacks the courage to do anything like that. https://sny.tv/articles/iconic-1986-mets-moment-modern-analytics

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)
Bullpen is just awful. Not sure why Grifol and Katz do not tell relievers like Bummer, ReyLo, Kelly and Graveman that they should not walk the lead-off man before they are put in there to protect a one or two run lead late in the game. The walk to Belt ahead of Guerrero was a joke. Belt was taking all the way at 3-2. You have to make Belt hit his way on base in that situation, and you don't throw Guerrero a fastball anywhere near the zone where he can barrel it up. Grifol would be fired if this was my team because I have seen this same thing happen too many times. Give games away because relief pitchers are afraid to throw strikes or just can't.

Óscar Colás reportedly being promoted, expected to join club tomorrow
Agree entirely. Frazier was over-matched by major league pitching. Looked like a wimpy red headed leprechaun up there. Colas has a chance to run into one and do some damage. Sox need to light up the scoreboard for the 4th !

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)
I like the power in our line-up tonight -- Robert Jr., Eloy, Vaughn, Burger, Zavala, and Colas. And maybe some small ball base hits from TA, Benni, and Remillard will set the table for them. I like our chances tonight. Come on... "Go... you... White... Sox" (fond memories emerge of Andy "the Clown" Rodzilsky, a great SS White Sox fan and mascot who was treated like sh1t and disrespected by Einhorn and Reinsdorf )

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
Trades should not be made and will not be made because fans like or dislike a player for personal reasons. There is too much of that in these posts.

Fire Rick Hahn
If Hahn is tasked with selling, or blowing it up as some here say, there is no telling how much more damage he can do to the fan base. Instead of being mired in mediocrity, the Sox might be perpetually stuck in the muck with bottom dwelling teams. Sox cannot afford to wave the white flag. Instead, try to make some changes that might make the team better this year.

Blow it the F Up
Try to trade or release unproductive players (TA, Moncada, Grandal) and build on the core....and do that every year. It's really that simple. For now Grifol should bench TA and have Remillard, Bennintendi, Robert Jr., and Eloy at the top of the order. Also bench Grandal or put him on the IL until he is dealt or DFAed. He is toast. Don't trade our star players and Pitchers and definitely try to re-sign Gio. You blow the thing up and the Sox will not be competitive for a decade or more. I am sure that some posters here would love that outcome.
