Basically, the guys who took a ton of walks that year are gone or bad now and then Anderson had a batting average driven OBP but he has no power now either because of injury or age.

He’s a terrible athlete by MLB standards. He has to be a well above average hitter to have any value with being a negative on the bases and in the field. It’s also hilarious the Sox thought he could play in the outfield at all.

If a pitcher has any talent at all and doesn’t throw him a hanger he has zero chance. If he doesn’t make massive changes to his approach it was a fun month or so but he won’t hit again other than an occasional home run he runs into.

I also don’t think that was enforced properly. He didn’t block the plate and he clearly had possession of the ball before Andrus got there. Insane call.

Easily the best group of talent the USA has ever had and the gap between the USA and the other teams in CONCACAF from a talent perspective is massive right now. I'm hopeful that even though I really really dislike Berhalter, because I don't think he is a total joke as a coach (although he clearly isn't good and it is insane he is getting a second World Cup cycle when that often ends poorly) that the talent carries the day. He also better repair the relationship with Reyna or he needs to go because Reyna when healthy is a huge difference maker.
