5/11/21 -Crochet's First ML Win - White Sox 9 Minnesota 3
Best change up I've ever seen DC throw to strike out tough lefty and end threat. Looked like GC was throwing a bit harder as well. Nothing to say about Bummer, except he seems to be stuck in auto pilot now.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Brian Goodwin is a good pick up. Hits lefties and righties equally well with some pop. Can cover center ok. Platoon with Engel, and platoon Leury with Eaton. With our pitching we'll be fine.

5/9 Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City Royals 1:10 PM CDT
Mendick mania. Put him at short and Anderson to CF. Too bad TA is a star already. 2-3 years ago it could have happened

Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks
2.7 WAR in 24 games for Buxton. Jeez that's good. Only guy in the league as good as Robert in center defensively.

Rodon
when i was a kid, 40 starts and 250-300 innings were very common. The flame out rate of pitchers didn't seem much higher than today. I wonder what would happen if pitchers were asked to pitch a little more. With medical procedures what they are today, there might not be much of a price to pay physically. Teams with just a few good pitchers might be able to compete, and fewer pitching changes would speed up the game.

Rodon
Sox might get him for less $$ by reworking this years contract as part of the deal. Carlos has already earned the 3 million.

Theories as to why offense behind pitching so far?
lost Eloy. Not to be racist, hispanics like warmer weather.

Texas @ Sox
Dylan Cease is hearing foot steps.

Madrigal.
He might, if he starts going to Altuves Pharmacist.

Lynn to IL; Burdi up
Would rather given Stiever and Either Lambert or Mcclure. Stiever might end up being good too though.

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
haven't been above .500 yet. maybe 4th times the charm.

Madrigal.
I know he's 24. I know he'll never hit homers. I also know he's had less than 200 MLB plate appearances and 40 or so starts at second base. Just give him a few months before making any final judgements. Lots of good players didn't excel on day 1.

Corbin Burnes
I'm not too worried about the starters or the pen. Go find an outfielder who can hit a little.

We Thought We Have A Good Bullpen?
Admitted Colome fan. Still, LH has only been good for 2 seasons and Colome has never had a bad year in his career. When some one keeps having success year after year, it means some thing. Obviously every player gets old sooner or later. But the difference in salary between these guys could have helped cushion the blow when El Kabong went down(does anybody remember this vague cartoon reference?).

Royals vs Sox Sunday Matinee...1:10 pm CST First Pitch
With a decent bullpen we could be 8-1. Geez I wish we had Colome back.

Old Sox Games on Youtube
The Sox-Angels clip is great. Nice to see my favorite Sox manager Jim Fregosi in the other dug out. I noticed he was wearing his wind breaker even before he got to Chicago. I don't think I ever saw him without it. He was a good manager and a funny guy too. Too bad we didn't any good players when he was here. Took the Phillies to the world series in1993.

A Nick Madrigal Sized Sample
3 walks , 2hbp in 7 games. nice. see where his defense is by June. 380 ops. good. he does look slower than advertised though.

I thought We Were Stockpiling Talent In The Minors??? To Avoid This Problem
pretty sure ruth is at least 2 years younger than gonzo. Bigger, faster, better hitter. if you blast FO for failure at least give them credit for Cuba connection and rehab successes.

Gordon Beckham retires
Saw GB hit his 1st homer of career in Cincinnati. Nice view of the Ohio river from behind Home plate.

ELOY HURT! (3/25 Update: Torn Pectoral Tendon, Out 5-6 months))
Still no mention of Rutherford or Micker. The silence is deafening.
