  1. I suppose it’s better than Royals cast offs.
  2. I don’t think it’s bitching. More mocking.
  3. This team is more than two years away from .500, IMHO.
  4. Over a guy who hit .190 two years ago and skipped last year?
  5. This ought to lessen the sting of losing out on Ohtani. (I have never heard of this guy. Maybe he’s good. Doubtful.)
  6. Jerry Reinsdorf has never signed someone to a contract greater than 1/9 of this contract. Let that sink in.
  7. Who is forcing Juan Soto to be employed in major league baseball?
  8. Yeah, it really seems like the Yankees have struggled to attract free agents over the years. If only the Yankees would drop the facial hair thing they could get free agents to come to New York.
  9. That’s what I said. Spending a lot on short term players is not spending as most would understand it. Yes the payroll goes up for a couple years but it’s quite easy to bring it back down. Spending the same on long term, impact players is quite different. So he spent for two or three years. Still hasn’t even crossed that $80 million mark for a single player. He overspent on bullpen.
  10. Spending a lot piecemeal on shorter term contracts is a lot different than committing, wisely, Bryce Harper type money. It’s cheap because you get out from under it quicker.
  11. That was when I turned on them. When they let the kid that drove the car into the ditch turn around and drive the tow truck.
  12. It was by design. Not a mistake. He can’t remember his coaches names, he deserves the same degree of respect.
  13. What talent do they have worth trading? Roberts?
  14. In my mind I remember Canseco being productive. Don’t know if my memory is correct on that one.
  15. I remember when they picked those two up and I was hoping they could recapture their former greatness. I was a stupid teenager at that point, lol.

  17. That’s a great story! Around that same era I sent Ed Farmer a fan letter as a young child. He actually called me and I’ll never forget the look on my dad’s face when he answered the phone. This was back when players didn’t think they were better than the fans.

  19. Yes! The Sox had four lefty starters at that point - Wortham, Baumgarten, Kravec, Trout.

  21. Didn’t make me hate him less.
  22. I saw him make stupid plays too many times. I also loved Tony Bernazard and it took me a while to forgive Julio Cruz for not being Bernazard.
