  1. I for one love the idea of Thome. Likely get a good deal considering where he could get elsewhere. Plus another prep (me likey) and his bat is his calling card.. Plus - HE'S A THOME. I'm a sucker for a good story
  2. nevermind.. i see your responses
  3. Hopefully not permanent reliever?
  4. I love burning two moderatly high end prospects in relief roles.. I hope this wouldn't be another Taylor situation where he never even sniffs the chance to start. This year... fine - next year - start!
  5. Honestly - 15-20 home run power would suck at a #1 pick
  6. What on earth is he doing in WS and not in Charlotte by now, did they forget about him?
  7. Like very low chance he is there for Saturday, right? I'll be there for the derby.. Seems like that would be too quick a rehab for how long he's been out. I imagine they hold him out through the all star game.
  8. yeah idk why Ray keeps missing or ignoring that
  9. Just leave him ouit through the all star break. Don't want to mess with hammy's
  10. Surprised Roch is getting 80%. I agree its a closer race than it was going into the year but I also do think though that there is quite a bit of prospect fatigue going on though. I am hoping it is one of the SS by a mile though. I do not want Lackey at all.
  11. This would honestly be great. If you could get it done
  12. I mean, you could say that about a lot of players. Injuries happen, but i certainly don't hold a player that may have value just to hold him for "maybe someone gets injured sometime". Also.. If the injury is so bad and long that Lee or Romo can't handle it for a month or so, then go sign or trade for some vet.. Keep in mind, Teel missed a lot of time already and we survived fine already with 2 bad catchers (Romo and Quero).
  13. He's a backup here. He will have more value to us elsewhere. Even if he recovers, he only starts 60-70 games a year. (No Teel and Quero can't alternate at DH)
  14. Could Quero get us someone? What about Jackson Ferris? Two prospects with dimmishing shine.. Unless you think he's got the YIPS.
  15. Exactly my thoughts.
  16. I'd hate to trade Bonemer for Meyer. His advanced stats show quite a bit different player. And also... Been bad the years prior. I have no interest trading a high end prospect for that type of player (Meyer/Detmers)
  17. Need some SP excitement. COME ON ADAMS
  18. Robbie Ray would be a guy I'd be interested in. Would cost very little in prospects (if anything) and be a veteran presence who does carry some upside.
  19. It's the right approach.
  20. I hate trading significant assets for a guy that's ceiling is a back-end rotation piece.
  21. Going into the season, Emerson was always #2 behind Roch. Right now I rank them 1. Roch 2. Emerson 3. Lackey
  22. Yeah, if you take on the salary and don't have to give up much in prospects, this would be the right move.
