I think it's clear that Robin Ventura will be relieved shortly after the season. Who will be the next manager? I still say Sandy Alomar.

Most likely Renteria IMO, though I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted a former player like A.J., Rowand, Thome, and maybe even Konerko to take the job.

I don't think there's any chance that it's Renteria. I just feel like they would have had him take over this season if it were going to be him.

Not to make fun of the thread starter cause it's a fair question but who the hell knows with this organization.

Ron Gardenhire

I'd like Ron Washington.

Puke. I may actually be done if they hire that dinosaur.

I'm surprised by the Rick Renteria votes. Wouldn't they have just tried that already if that were the case?

Joke is on all of you, Kenny Williams is about to name himself president/asst GM overseeing GM duties/Manager

Chris Bosio.

Word. How many people guessed Robin around this time in 2011?

I think they'll hire an Hispanic that speaks Spanish. Hopefully someone with major league coaching or minor league managing experience to a 3-year deal. Who that is, I don't know and I don't care. I just hope they hire someone who fits in with what they're trying to accomplish over the next couple years, and are willing to fire them after three years if they're not good.

Was told Renteria had/has too much respect for RV to overtake him during the year.

That's a pretty class move for a guy who was unceremoniously dumped after doing a pretty fair job himself across town.

That actually intrigues me a bit.

Sandy Alomar Jr.

Bruce Bochy and the Giants part ways after the struggle down the stretch and is hired by the White Sox

In reality, it's gonna be the same crap all over again. Probably Aaron Rowand or Jim Thome.

No matter how many people are in consideration, Sox fans will hate the move unless it's Dave Martinez.

Including you?

I think Renteria would be a major upgrade over Robin. He turned the team on the North Side into a decent team with very little work with. The Sox have much more talent than the Cubs did at that time.

Doubt it will be Martinez. He was -in-house in Tampa and they passed over him for cash. I vote for Chili Davis.

Robin stays

More fans leave.

73-89 is a decent team?

It's most like an ex-White Sox player, experience need not matter from their previous hires.

I'm more interested in if they are hiring a metrics driven manager vs. an old-school manager. I'm not even sure how Robin fits into that.

Whoever they decide on, I really hope it's a full cleanse of the coaching staff. The message is stale and they need a lot of new life in there. Coop has run his course, teaching every pitcher a cutter isn't innovative. I haven't seen big improvement from any Sox pitchers in awhile.

My vote would be for Renteria or Black from the list above.
