Probably just a salary dump. If the Astros wanted him they could have just asked the Yankees politely.

True but that was before he got Coop'd

Hes been pretty good with us since the trade. I know I saw an article about how he and Coop looked at some old videos and helped tweak his mechanics a bit to his old ways. Add him to a list of guys who probably owe Coop half their MLB salaries in their careers (starting with you Matt Thornton) when he signs his next contract.

Saw an unverified rumor its Tony Kemp

If the Sox spun Tyler Clippard into an actual asset after only a few weeks then there is little doubt they can cobble a major league quality bullpen together out of thin air.

It would but not sure how true. He's still playing in his AAA game

This is taking forever

Meh...

At least Fulmer will be happy. Ex Vandy teammate.

Tony Kemp's AAA stats seem pretty good IMO

Dudes hitting .327 in AAA after hitting .306 in AAA last year.

Tony Kemp’s last 65 games: .353, 10 HR, 28 extra-base hits, 40 RBIs, 64 runs scored, 20 walks, 12 stolen bases.

Any confirmation or just speculation?

Kemp is on the Astros 40 man. But I suppose with Sox having AL worst record, that could be easily solved.

He has played 2B, LF, and CF this year.

If this is who we got for Clippard that is a pretty big win. This is a guy who would come up in September and compete for a spot in 2018

I recall Kemp's name being thrown around as a third piece of potential trades for one of Sale / Q. For Clippard that's beast mode... if true.

25 year old utility guy. It's meh, but for Tyler freaking Clippard, I'll take it.

Perhaps why we see no announcement. Hed had to go through the waiver process
