White Sox vs Rays 1:10 pm

He's very good if he only has to pitch an inning or two at a time. Obviously that isn't what we hoped for when the Sox drafted him, but he could still be a valuable contributor on the next good Sox team.

Hopefully his velocity increases a bit as reliever. Two years ago, it did not

Davidson had 19 walks in all of 2017. He has 7 in 2018.

1-18 for Abreu at home

Abreu never hits in cold weather.

For a team like this, I really think he's the ideal 6/7 hitter.

Then I don’t want him on my team in 2020.

wow, that ball hit his foot.

We just look... defeated

Seen enough "grounds out softly to pitcher" updates to last a season in gameday

That sure looked like it hit the dirt. Get the ball and see if there is any shoe polish on it.

I feel like Castillo gives very little effort when he swings

We still have 15 outs to score four runs and that feels basically impossible at the moment.

hit him in the fat part of the hip looked like. lucky. jose could have hurt himself as well. this team just does not look graceful today.

That was a pretty nice play by Abreu off of the ricochet.

Yeah...I kinda grimaced when I saw that. Lucky he didn't break his ankle...

Hope he tells Manny it feels just like Florida weather

This is how Fulmer looked in the spring unfortunately.

If you're not ready to accept some struggles from Carson Fulmer this year I don't know what to tell you. There's a talented pitcher in there, but I'd wager he winds up with an ERA above 5.00 this year. We're trying to undo the damage we did to him in 2016, so that's our penance.

I wanna hear Coop defend this guy again. Maybe bring out the Appalachian State joke again.

It's going to be nice when Sox pitchers start throwing strikes again.

It's going to be nice when Sox pitchers start throwing strikes again and when Sox batters start getting hits again.

Too many walks, way too few strikeouts from the starters. Oh well, at least Kopech/Cease/Dunning have looked good and Lopez looks great

Repeat after me: player development is not a linear function. There are zero guarantees that these guys come up and become stars right away. That is more rare than your typical player development function which is more like a sinusoidal function. Full of peaks and valleys.

I'm honestly not overly alarmed by this kind of outing from Fulmer. It's obviously not good but I knew he was going to fight his command a lot and that's what this was. I'm encouraged because his stuff looked good and they struggled to square him up. I'm prepared for much of his season to be filled with this kind of inconsistency.

Reading a game thread only confirms that White Sox fans can't handle an actual rebuild.

Looking at it on paper, a home stand against a bad Detroit team, and an even worse Tampa Bay team, looked like a way to build on the 3-2 road trip start.

Shows what I know, I guess.
