I think the team chooses what position to announce him as if I remember from the Harper pick. So yeah it is interesting he was announced as a SS

  • Nope. Nobody will ever have to hear/read greg's opinions on the pick. Who'd we take in round two?

Kanny or Dash for Mad Dog.?

Good question.  Blackman and Rivera have both performed very well at Kanny, the same with Remillard and Yrizarri at WS.  Obviously Madrigal's development is probably going to supersede  those guys'.

I really don't like the idea of moving Moncada but his athleticism makes him more versatile to move to another position than Madrigal.

It legit doesn’t matter until the Sox say something. If you listened to tiff like that, Collins would already be a 1b

Damn my guy Liberatore falling as well.

Sadly I don't think he falls another 40

Posted before, but Fangraphs would have Nick Madrigal as the 35th best prospect in an updated top 100 minor league prospects.

Moncada has been open about not wanting to play 3b

Yeah he loves Madrigal at 2b. I think sox will keep TA and Moncada where they are and move Madrigal all around.

I am sure they will play him at SS , and see what he can do.

I think he starts at Kanny and moves up to Winston-Salem in late July/early August.

Arizona Fall League depending on where he is physically at end of year.   If not this year (AFL), definitely after the 2019 season...

Where to?

3B?

1. Madrigal, 2B

2. Moncada, 3B

3. Abreu, DH

4. Harper, RF

5. Jimenez, LF

6. Collins, C

7. Davidson, 1B

8. Anderson, SS

9. Robert, CF

Holy fuck that would be the sickest lineup ever.

3 or 4.

The good news is that the 1st pick does not default to number 1 any more.

I'd put him at 4 because of the time Hansen has missed. Fangraphs also has him at 4 because yet have him as the #35 overall prospect, behind Eloy, Kopech, and Robert

Yeah in minors for sure and that is clear sailing all the way through the system.

Wooooah.  I thought Gorman was a sure thing based off all the intel.

Carter Stewart or Scott Stewart?

Wow. Who knows if legit, but:

Murray has said he is committed to playing QB this season for OU...if not 2019.

I’ll just keep asking, what would the Yankees, Astros dodgers cubs do with an excess of talent at a position? You just move them all around, you get 12 good baseball players and make it work.

I'm not advocating to move Moncada. It's just that who stands a better chance of playing another position other than 2ND, Moncada or Madrigal? Madrigal looks to be limited to 2ND unless his arm strength improves enough to bump TA from SS.

Regardless I'm happy with the pick and as others have said this will sort itself out when the time comes. I look forward to a 1 2 punch of Madrigal Moncada at the top of the order in a few years.

Yerp.

This chick is horrible

Well since we got a position player round 1, do we go pitcher round 2? @DirtySox I like the Roberts prediction. My other guy Tanner Dodson I'm looking at too maybe round 3 if he falls there.
