February 28, 20197 yr Honestly, this is worse than the Machado miss, but less surprising. Back to the talent acquisition phase...

If you adjust ARoid and Manroid's 2000 vintage deals for payroll growth, you're talking about $500 million deals today being comparable to what those guys signed for.
February 28, 20197 yr At least now we can start signing the garbage that’s left.. drive for the top picks again!

Mark buehrle and Paul konerko weren't drawing fans when they sucked. Sox fans don't show up to watch even ok baseball. They wont even show up and watch if they look good for a while - they need to sustain it to get fans.

February 28, 20197 yr As someone else said on twitter, the Sox are looking at a possible rebuild of the rebuild. Rodon should be traded at the deadline if he does well this year.
February 28, 20197 yr I knew when I saw the numbers, delusional Sox fans would still be up in arms. THEY ALREADY TOLD YOU THEY CAN'T MAKE A $300 MILLION COMMITMENT FOR ONE GUY. That was just a week ago

February 28, 20197 yr Shrug. I didn't expect that they were players in this at all. Go draft pick go?
February 28, 20197 yr Guys, look on the bright side... at least we can go out and sign CarGo now. Lmao who was that who said that the White Sox were “Pissed off” and “In stealth mode” now?

How did they do in 2012? It was worse than 2011, which was worse than 2010, which was worse than 2009, which was worse than 2008, which was worse than 2007. A definite pattern has developed. This team is irrelevant, and don't seem to want to make any bold financial moves to change. Edited February 28, 20197 yr by Dick Allen
February 28, 20197 yr Well, this news just makes me sad. When sports doesn't enrich your life, time to step away.

You are not factoring in the extra revenue will generate with Harper over 13 years. It’s the cost of James fucking McCann Edited February 28, 20197 yr by thxfrthmmrs
February 28, 20197 yr Machado and Harper signed for $300m and $330m respectively, with one opt-out combined between them. Neither AAV sets a record. And the White Sox didn’t get either of them. The White Sox have a total of $15m committed to next year’s payroll.
