Then what was the point of adding Alonso (lefty DH/1b) and Jon Jay (corner OF who will probably be stuck in CF anyway)?

Yeah, adding Harper would be an acceptable substitute but those moves are still confusing, and there's basically no reason to have confidence in these clowns getting that done after today. Because they're clowns.
