January 14, 20197 yr Wish him luck. He always tried his hardest and can't fault him too much that results weren't consistent. There's part of me that thinks he's destined to be JD Martinez Jr.
January 14, 20197 yr Just hope Sox execute their plan this offseason, as I would have rather seen Avi get at bats than Alonso or Jay, etc.
January 14, 20197 yr Good for Avi. Thought he may need to take a minor league deal. I am guessing $3.5-4M range.
January 14, 20197 yr If the Rays are after a player it means something. Watch Avi turn into the player we all thought he could be.
January 14, 20197 yr I wish Avi well and hope he can stay healthy. Trevor Bauer will sorely miss him.

Good exit velocity on hits, great arm in right. Good speed on basepaths... and yet never put it together.
January 14, 20197 yr haven't seen the base salary, but Heyman saying he can earn up to $6M with incentives.
January 14, 20197 yr Now he will go to Tampa and tear it up.. people will b**** because the Sox didn't keep him

He had 4.2 WAR in 2017, which looked a lot at the time like he had put things together. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he returned to similar form.
January 14, 20197 yr I had hoped we would sign him to an incentive laden deal. This was a bit lower than I expected. Funny guys rarely take that kind of deal from there team as it is often perceived as "disrespectful". Then they end up taking less somewhere else.

I don’t see Delmonico or Palka being the answer Edited January 14, 20197 yr by elrockinMT
