I'd actually like this deal but post Machado I hate and judge everything as Kenny Gets His Guy

Ervin coming here was promised he could work with AJP as incentive.

Will be interesting to see if this guy is even hitting 90 on the radar gun in Arizona. I give it a 50/50 chance that he even makes it out of Spring Training.

No problem with this.  If he's healthy he'll most likely be part of the team when the season starts.  If it means fewer Covey sightings, that's a good thing.

The Sox sign a washed up bum the same day as the Padres announce Machado. What a kick in the nuts for Sox fans everywhere.

They've spent like 40 million on trash this offseason that they could've given to Machado. I'd take one Manny Machado over Colome/Herrera/Nova/Alonso/Jay/McCann/Santana anyday.

He will give up 70 homers at the rate.....

The White Sox are penny wise and dollar dumb.

This is just such a typical White Sox move. This front office reminds me of my father in-law, who travels around the Chicago suburbs in a big van, to and from various yard sales and estate sales, buying other people's garbage hoping to sell it a few months later on his amazon store. 

Are the innings not better spent on say giving Stephens and Guerrero a good long look?  Or even Covey one last try at this?

Whoever deserves the innings will get them. There will be plenty to pass along. Guys will suck. Guys will get hurt.

I rather have covey. In a rebuild year it doesn't matter. People forget it took Alex Fernandez 3 season to become good. Covey got the stuff... Is he ever gonna put it together don't know but in a rebuild year in willing to see

It really is astonishing how poorly they’ve executed.

The Sox don't view Stephen's or Guerrero as anything and neither does MLB. Otherwise they would have been protected in the Rule 5 draft and/or someone would have picked them as high MiLB pitchers.

$4.3 million for that? Deserves a laugh.
