Too much speed differential on Giolito's changeup right now.

My problem with the Rizzo AB in the 1st inning was that Lester was getting strikes that Giolito wasn't.

Gio has struggled. It doesn't change the fact that the HP ump is bad. I was more pissed about pitch selection in the 1st inning than anything else. Just dumb baseball

Let it go. He is having a bad game. Chris Sale got lit up every 10 starts, it happens.

The Cubs had a gameplan tonight that you really don't see... they planned on sitting on the offspeed, namely the changeup on Giolito. Seems to have worked.

The point about the umpire isn't that Lucas is secrely pitching great, it's that the umpire likely put two runs on the board by squeezing Lucas and perhaps kept runs off the board for Lester by giving him a giant strike zone

Gio having a bad game but still whiffing tons of batters.
